Her Niece Wanted a Taylor Swift American Girl Doll, So She Designed Incredible Replica Outfits Herself (Exclusive)

One woman got an extra Swifty this year for her niece’s holiday gift.

On TikTok, Amanda Wilde explained how after her niece Adalyn, 10, requested a Taylor Swift American Girl doll for the holidays, she tried to make one herself.

“When your niece wants a Taylor doll for Christmas, you make it happen 👏🏼 🪩✨,” she captioned the video.

In the clip, Wilde revealed the gift she gave her niece to the song “Gorgeous” by Swift. Opening the red American Girl doll’s closet, she revealed a glittering closet filled with doll-sized custom replicas of Swift’s Eras Tour clothing.

Suits ranged from Swift’s gold Fearless her dress Speak now dance dress on black top for Midnight. It took Wilde about 2 weeks to complete the collection. Speaking to PEOPLE, Wilde says she worked on the project every night after she got home from work.

The gold outfit inspired by ‘Fearless’ took the most time to attach the individual tassels,” she says. “I would say the hardest part of creating all of that, other than physically making the outfit, was finding good materials to use.”

“I thrifted 90% of what you see. I found a box at a local thrift store for $15, and then gathered different items of clothing for the outfit,” she continues. “I cut them out and loosely measured them around my niece’s finished American Girl Doll to make sure they fit.”

In the comments, Wilde mentioned how she filled her closet drawers with a microphone, sparkly boots and a hair dryer.

“I loved making the ‘Lover’ inspired dress with sequins,” she continues. “That started the whole project. I actually found that material on the 23rd at a local craft store and rushed home to turn it into the masterpiece this box is before I give it to her for Christmas. It’s the only raw material I used, the rest are cheap clothes!”

Reflecting on the moment Wilde says her niece’s reaction to the gift was priceless.

“I wish I had recorded it,” says Wilde. “I also posted Snapchat stories of me making clothes along the way, my niece Adalyn saw what I was making. I tricked her into thinking it was for her cousin, Ellie, who is six. Ellie also loves Taylor (I mean who doesn’t! ), but Adalyn is a true Swiftie.”

She adds, “She and I bonded all year because of Taylor. She knew every song and sang her heart out in the movie when we saw it in theaters. She was so convinced this wasn’t for her that at Christmas when we exchanged gifts , called Ellie back into the room because I ‘forgot’ to give her one last gift.”

“She was shocked when I handed it to her instead of Ellie and I had to convince her multiple times that it was actually for her. It was so sweet,” adds Wilde.
