Christina Carlin-Kraft, a former Playboy model from New Jersey, was found strangled to death at her residence in late August 2018. Evidence of a violent struggle, most likely with the killer, that occurred before her death was also found on her body. Soon after, an extensive investigation, CCTV video and some advice led investigators to an accused drug dealer named Jonathan Harris, who had just been released from prison. Harris was arrested while trying to leave the country and later confessed.
A new episode of Playboy Murders on ID this week will investigate the 2018 murder of Christina Carlin-Kraft. Moth to a Flame premieres Monday, February 6, 2023 at 10:00 p.m. ET. According to the summary:

1) Christina Carlin-Kraft just moved into a new apartment.
In 2018, Christina became engaged to longtime lover Alexander Ciccotelli after he bought her an apartment in Ardmore, a posh neighborhood in Philadelphia. She just moved into this house. However, a short time later, the bartender Christina followed her home and broke into her home to steal some of her luxury handbags and jewelry. Andre Melton was eventually found guilty of burglary, criminal trespass and burglary by taking and receiving stolen property.
2) Her gruesome murder happened due to a burglary.
Christina Carlin-Kraft arrived downtown in the early morning of August 22 despite being rocked by a break-in and burglary. The next day, she was found dead in her home. Ciccotelli, Christina’s fiance, only contacted 911 because he could not enter her apartment, which was locked from the inside. He became worried when she didn’t answer his calls.
3) Christina Carlin-Kraft was beaten and strangled to death.
Christina’s body was discovered at the scene of the brutal murder, wrapped in a blanket. The 36-year-old woman was brutally abused before her death, evident in her broken nose and dark circles under her eyes where she was beaten. At the conclusion of the autopsy, it was determined that she died of strangulation.
4) Her killer, Jonathan Harris, testified that she attacked him first.
Authorities were able to arrest 30-year-old Jonathan Harris, an accused drug dealer who had just been released from prison days before Christine Carlin was murdered, Kraft’s use of video surveillance cameras, information provided by a Lyft taxi driver, and other tips. Days after the murder, Harris was arrested while trying to leave on a bus near Pittsburgh. After being taken into custody, Harris confessed to the murder of Christina, telling authorities that they had consensual sex, alcohol and cocaine that night. He also said they got into a fight when the model refused to pay $1,200 for drugs. According to his testimony, Christina hit him with a bottle of alcohol, after which he repeatedly punched her. He then “started strangling her” as she was about to call 911.
5) Harris received a life sentence with consecutive convictions.
One of Jonathan Harris’s hospital detainees testified in court at his trial in 2019, claiming that he had previously confessed to the murder of Christine Carlin-Kraft, told him. that “there’s nothing like holding someone in your arms and feeling their last breath leaving your body”. Harris was eventually found guilty of murder, kidnapping, possession of a tool, and strangulation. He was sentenced to life in prison with sentences ranging from 22 and a half to 45 years in prison for other charges.
