In the exclusive first terms of people What is the reality? Podcast, reality star reflects his reasons to manage talks about the LGBTQ community and religion with his former fiancé Sara Carton during the 8 hit series Netflix.

When asked Love is blind Season 6 Alum and host AD Smith about his response to discussion on social issues, Ben admits that he “avoided these conversations” in the past.

AD is then wondering if he actually avoided the conversation or raised “the way you may have an opinion, and your default is to avoid,” to which he replies that “he is a bit of both.”

“I would say that I think growing up I have always wanted my opinion,” he explains. “But you always come back or stop what you raised believing and so I think it’s a part of why I somehow avoided it because growing up in a community that you know is always open and love for everyone but believes [in] a particular belief system. ”

Although his personal belief system was different from what he was learning, he noticed that he did not talk about it “with the people who raised me or the community who raised me” to avoid difficult conversations.

“I was just like I didn’t know if I didn’t believe it, but I won’t say it or talk about it because I don’t want to mock any feathers,” he says, adding: “Also, there is another side that I think I believe, but because people around which they can arouse their feathers and that is also ahead and so I choose to avoid it.”

He explains that with his own “growing up and personal development,” he now realizes that he is “not a way to do so.”

The clip concludes with an ad, which pressures him with a “clear answer” about what he is advocating after his opinions were not completely obvious during conversation with Sarah during the 8th season.

In the show, Sara questioned Ben’s beliefs about a wide range of social issues because she noticed the importance of finding a husband who respected her progressive attitudes. After he could not vote her beliefs, she announced on the altar that she “always wanted a partner to be on the same wavelength” and refused their wedding.

After her decision, Sara opened herself with cameras and admitted that she was “hit” that Ben failed to think deeply about bigger social issues. She noted that she believed their love might be “the surface [level]fun [and] carefree.”

“I want someone to think about these things,” she added. “There was no curiosity on his part … People prove who they were, actions speak louder than words. You can say everything you want, but show me. That would change everything if he really showed a priority.”

Talking to the people who followed the finals, Sara explained: “All the time I didn’t ask for a real or wrong answer. I just wanted to have a depth and be able to understand each other, where we came from, how we grew up, why we think and have this perception of life and the world and the people around us so we have deep conversations.

“But in pods, I felt like I was pleased with the conversations we had, at least they were [received]. [I was] Thinking, moving forward, we will be able to grow with that. But that never developed, “she continued.” She never reached that point. And so it made me think, okay, maybe there may be no depth at all. ”

“There was no doubt that we had a relationship, but just moving forward and depth in our relationship, I really wasn’t much from Ben when I asked him questions … If I had been able to have that depth with him, I think that might change things, but it just didn’t work.”
