Himachal Pradesh NMMSS 2023: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has extended the last date to apply for the HP National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS). Now eligible candidates can register till 25th September 2023 till 11:59 PM. The deadline has been extended so that as many students as possible can use the scholarship.

The official notification reads, “You are hereby informed that in view of the unprecedented weather conditions which have caused major havoc in connectivity, the last date for online application for NMMSS 2023-24 examination will be held on 26th November 2023 for students studying in Class VIII for all GMS/GHS/GSSS in Himachal Pradesh in the current year i.e. 2023-24 has been extended so that maximum number of students can benefit.”

What is Himachal Pradesh NMMSS Exam Date 2023?

Himachal Pradesh NMMS Exam 2023 will be held on 26th November 2023 Students studying in 8th class for all GMS/GHS/GSSS in Himachal Pradesh in current year.

Under this scheme, a scholarship of Rs 1000 per month is given to 832 students of Himachal Pradesh provided they fulfill the eligibility conditions in the NMMS examination.

Who can apply for Himachal Pradesh NMMSS Exam 2023?

Candidates can check the eligibility conditions below:

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Every student studying in class VIII in Govt. /Local Body /95% Government Aided Private School for the period 2023-24, whose annual parental income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 3,50,000 are eligible to take this exam.
  2. He/she must have at least 55% marks in class VII. There is, however, a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST students.
  3. Candidates applying under PCG category will have to attach relevant certificates from competent authorities in standard formats.
  4. He/she will get scholarship for the next four years i.e. class IX to XII only if he/she continues his studies in Govt. /Local body /95% private school with state aid.
  5. Awardees should obtain at least 60% marks in class 10 to continue the scholarship (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in the next higher classes. To continue the scholarship in grades 10 and 12, awardees should obtain clear promotion from grade 9 to grade 10 and from grade 11 to grade 12 at the first attempt.
