An onlooker in Los Angeles said: “Leo was seen rushing towards a booth outside a local market.
“He was seen hanging around, outside the store, using a pay phone, acting completely paranoid.”
Leo, 49, is rumored to have signed on for the film version of the 1990 novel Vineland, with some claiming his lookalike Zoyd Wheeler.
Paul Thomas Anderson is said to be directing the film, codenamed BC Project.

Meanwhile, Leo was seen dating model Vittoria Ceretti in Paris last month.
Leo’s date with Vittoria came after the pair were seen kissing and partying in Ibiza in August and were later seen in California.
His love for young women and his habit of leaving them in their mid-20s became the talk of Tinseltown.
Comedian Kenan Thompson, 45, made a joke about Leo while hosting the 2022 Emmy Awards.
He said: “Twenty-six is a strange age in Hollywood.
“I mean, you’re young enough to play a high school kid, but too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio.”
