Homeless thug caught in terrifying footage shoving innocent postman on Tube tracks just as train pulls in is jailed

A HOMELESS man has been jailed for life after horrifying footage showed him pushing innocent mail onto tube tracks just as a train arrived.

Brwa Shorsh, 24, was seen jumping from a bench in the bustling Oxford Circus to send Tadeusz Potoczek flying off the platform.

Nail-biting footage shows brave passenger Oliver Matthews pulling a postman to safety as the train roars into the station.

Tadeusz feared he would die as he lay on the tracks just inches from the live rail.

Shorsh later claimed he thought the 61-year-old gave him a “dirty look” and that he “deserved to be pushed”.

He has now been jailed for life with a minimum sentence of eight years and 49 days after being convicted of attempted murder.

Inner London Crown Court heard a Kurdish migrant arrived in the UK in 2018 on the back of a lorry after being refused asylum in Germany.

Shorsh had been sleeping in train stations since around 2020 when he carried out the horror attack.

He has amassed “a large number” of convictions for violence against tube workers and British Transport Police officers.

Sentencing, Judge Benedict Kelleher said: “You said you didn’t care if he died, you said the same thing in the interview after your arrest.

“For no other reason than that you generally felt angry and that you then mistook Mr. Potoczek for looking at you, you made a spontaneous decision to try to take his life.”

Tadeusz was rushing to catch a flight on February 3 when he was targeted by bandits.

Fortunately, it landed well away from the live tracks and driver Bobby Walker was able to apply the emergency brakes just four seconds before hitting the victim.

The driver said at first he thought someone was going to take their own life.

Bobby added: “This really shook me.

“If he had been on the track a few seconds later, he would have been killed. Likewise, if I had looked away for a few seconds, he would have been killed.

“I was suicidal four years ago in Oxford Circus, so I’m very glad I was able to stop the train.”

Shorsh, of no fixed address, was convicted of attempted murder after just 32 minutes of jury deliberations.
