Police, emergency medical assistance and fire brigades rushed to the scene of the incident at the central city pier around 4:30 p.m.
It is thought she may have fallen through part of the pier and landed on the beach below, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Pictures of the scene show a large hole along the pier through which the woman is believed to have fallen.
One witness who was on the beach with his children said: “I was walking along the beach with my children and heard a thump.
“A terrible blow next to me, almost on the top of my head.
“The lady fell to the floor, smashing the Central Pier. I was absolutely terrified… I thought she was dead.”
The place was evacuated and closed after the incident.
The woman’s injuries are not yet known.
The woman’s condition was stabilized an hour and a half before she was taken by ambulance to the Victoria Hospital in Blackpool, writes the Lancashire Post.
The media reported that the victim was a teenage girl and that there was no evidence that the evidence plates caused the accident.
After the evacuation, the arcades on the pier were reopened around 6 p.m., it was learned.
It comes a year after six fire engines rushed to Blackpool Tower to tackle a “blaze” – only for police to discover two hours later that the “flame” was just orange netting.
Fire officials said in December they had witnessed an inferno on the Promenade and told visitors to “keep clear” of the 520-foot iconic tourist attraction.
The attraction was evacuated, and the police shared an update from the fire department about the horror that happened at the world-famous landmark.
Locals even bizarrely claimed they could smell smoke as chaos erupted – and one man was arrested.
But officers confirmed just hours later that the “flame” was just orange netting and that the observation deck was never on fire.
Witnesses said roads were closed as six fire engines rushed to the scene along with a specialist climbing team.
A drone team and rope rescue team were dispatched and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire was on the scene.
