How Lindsay Lohan and Ayesha Curry Met and Became Instant BFFs: ‘Oh My God, I Love This Woman’ (Exclusive)

Lindsay Lohan and Ayesha Curry share the screen in a new Netflix movie Irish wishbut they were friends before they were stars.

In the new issue of LJUDI, actresses and mothers reveal how they first got together.

“We met through a mutual friend, chef Michael Mina, who said to my husband, ‘Lindsay and Ayesha need to meet,'” recalls Lohan, 37, who has been married to Middle East-based financier Bader Shammas since 2022. then Ayesha used to come to Dubai and we met at Mina restaurant.”

Curry, 34, who was on the girls’ trip with her two older sisters, added: “We all really agreed. We were supposed to have dinner for an hour, just a small meeting, and in the end we spent the whole evening.”

“We talked for hours,” says Lohan. We asked ourselves: ‘What time is it?’ I left him, I said, “Oh my God, that was so much fun. I love this woman.”

For Curry, the feeling was mutual. “So I’m super introverted, so I didn’t make any adult friends in my adulthood,” she says. “It was wild to meet someone I got along with so well, and we immediately had so many interests in common, so it was cool.”

Curry — who recently announced she is expecting her fourth child with Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry , 36, will join children Riley , 11, Ryan , 8, and Canon , 5 — and Lohan — who was with Shammas last year she had a son Luai — she says their husbands also became closer.

“It’s so funny because they’re both housewives,” says the Mean girls star.

“They are tough natives. That. But I think it’s great that they both really encourage us,” says Curry.

The two couples became so close that Lohan and Shammas asked the Currys to be their son Luai’s godparents.

But before that, Lohan asked Curry to join her Irish wishwhich she also produced.

In the Netflix film, shot on location in Ireland, Lohan plays Maddie, a book editor secretly in love with her fellow writer Paul (Alexander Vlahos).

However, he becomes engaged to Maddie’s friend Emma (Elizabeth Tan). At a destination wedding on the Emerald Isle, Maddie impulsively makes a wish that changes the trio’s fate. Curry, who plays bridesmaid Heather, says it’s the kind of movie where “you can get lost for 90 minutes and have a good laugh.”

“I was preparing for Irish wish, and I asked Ayesha, ‘Is there anything you still want to do that you haven’t done yet?’ She said, ‘Oh, I used to act and I want to do it again.’ I said, ‘Okay. Oh my God, you have to make this movie,’” Lohan recalls.

“And I said, ‘Oh my God, this is happening, and it’s happening in Ireland, where I’m going to be away from my babies for six weeks? What’s going on?’” adds Curry.

Lohan’s younger brother Dakota, 27, also appears in the film as the best man at the wedding of Maddie’s crush Paul. He also became close with Curry during filming.

“He’s like a younger brother to me now. He touched me so much on set, but it was great. Everything was carefree and the days flew by,” says Curry.

Having her loved ones together on set — Shammas is also an executive producer on the film — created a playful environment, Lohan says.

“It doesn’t feel like work, it just feels like fun, and that really rarely happens,” she says.

Irish wish airs on Netflix on Friday.
