Not only Shirley Mansfield (Shaylee Mansfield) in company you keep, but she is also deaf. She plays the daughter of Birdie Nicoletti (Sarah Wayne Callies). Birdie is by Milo Ventimiglia (he is also gilmore girl) Charlie’s brother. The whole family talks to her in American sign language. Even Charlie’s girlfriend, Emma Hill, is learning American Sign Language to converse with her. There’s very little depiction of ASL on TV, so it’s great to see it being used a lot on this show.
Ollie takes the lead more company you keep Season 1, Episode 3. While Nicoletti and her husband try to keep her away from the family business, she wants to be more involved. Her grandfather encouraged her to do so by teaching her how to steal a wallet, and she did the same with her family. The more the show put her in the plot, the more American Sign Language was used.

Bertie placed a tracker on Ollie to keep her safe, but told her mother she was no longer a child. When Birdie checks the tracking app in Season 1, Episode 3, Ollie doesn’t seem to be at home, but she tells her mother that she dropped the tracking device in the purse of the woman she was talking to arrive. This suggests that Ollie could play a larger role in Rom Con, company you keepbecause she is helping her family.
It’s not that teenagers should participate in family deception, but Daphne is a threat to the family. This is partly a result of Mark’s desire for revenge and partly on Daphne’s own agenda. Everyone guesses what Daphne will do if they don’t return the stolen money or if they don’t figure out how to defeat her. Ollie has proven her powers of observation. And she’s obviously a pretty good lip reader, too. She stuffed the tracking device into Daphne’s wallet without anyone noticing. Daphne also understands sign language, which may bring them together again when Ollie is involved.
more ways company you keep It would be even better if Ollie could be integrated into the plot. She’s an interesting character who isn’t afraid to stand up to her mother. She also doesn’t mind talking to Uncle Charlie and his girlfriend about what they’re doing. Having her talk to these characters and be part of the storyline was a great way to introduce ASL. Her story may influence other young women like her.
