Bobby and Sophie on the coast are about to take their fans on a fantastic food tour of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef, restaurateur and TV personality Bobby Flay is one of the Food Network’s most popular chefs, and is set to return to the network on August 22nd at 9:00pm ET with his latest collaboration with his daughter, Sophie Flay.
The father-daughter team is known for their sweet on-screen chemistry and shared passion for cooking. After visiting New York restaurants, the two return to Sophie’s hometown, where they will visit several places and delight viewers along the way.

According to Food Network’s announcement about the upcoming show:
“Bobby and Sophie tour Los Angeles in each one-hour episode, with its year-round sunlight and local ingredients that make the city a treasure trove of top restaurants and chefs. Bobby and Sophie are on a quest to sample the most imaginative and scrumptious food the city has to offer, from luxurious Hollywood institutions to the urban revival of new hip cafes in downtown LA.”
As stated in the press release, it is also an ideal gastronomic trip by the sea.
How rich are Bobby and Sophie?
Flay’s work in several industries over the years has earned him a net worth of $60 million as of April 2023, making him one of the world’s most famous and richest celebrity chefs. At the age of 17, the native New Yorker earned his GED and set out to pursue his culinary goals. He was a member of the inaugural graduating class of the French Culinary Institute, and his tuition was paid by Joe Allen, who was pleased with Flay’s innate skills in the kitchen. Bobby Flay, acclaimed celebrity chef, restaurateur, TV personality and author, is set to return to the screen in Bobby and Sophie on the Shore with his daughter Sophie Flay.
Bobby Flay as a television personality
Flay went on to work at other restaurants, including Brighton Grill and Bud and Jams, where he learned about Southwestern and Cajun cuisine, which would later inspire and inform many of his recipes and culinary work. He has appeared on various Food Network shows including Hot Off the Grill with Bobby Flay, Throwdown! with Bobby Flay, and Iron Chef and Wickedly Perfect.
Although well-known on the Food Network, the celebrity chef has also released numerous cookbooks, including Bobby Flay’s Burgers, Fries and Shakes and Bobby at Home: Fearless Flavors from My Kitchen. He briefly tried his hand as a radio DJ in 2009 and appeared in TV series and films for several years.
Bobby the restaurant owner
Coastal celebrity Bobby and Sophie own restaurants in locations such as Las Vegas, New York City, Atlantic City and even the Bahamas. Mesa Grill in Las Vegas received one Michelin star in 2008, but lost it in 2009.
Property and other assets
In 2017, the celebrity chef made headlines when his luxury apartment in Chelsea, New York was listed for $7.25 million. However, he was unable to find a buyer and reduced the price to 2022 before selling it for $5.6 million. He paid $6.5 million for a futuristic mansion in Los Angeles after selling his residence. The chef also owns thoroughbreds, including many stakes race winners, such as More Than Real, who won the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
Bobby and Sophie on the Coast also have their own podcast, Always Hungry with Bobby Flay and Sophie Flay, where they talk about food and have fun. Bobby and Sophie on the Shore will premiere on Discovery+ on August 22 and will be available to watch on demand.
