On July 29, the second season of the Secret Celebrity Remodel series begins, in which nine celebrities will surprise their loved ones with a spectacular home renovation. Debbie Gibson, a multi-talented producer, singer-songwriter, actress, film score composer and business woman, is one such celebrity. With a net worth of $2 million in April 2023, Debbie rose to fame as a young actress in the 1980s.
Nischelle Turner will host the next season of Secret Celebrity Renovation. What’s more, interior designer Sabrina Soto and home improvement contractor and television personality Rob Mariano will help celebrities with home upgrades.
Debbie Gibson of Secret Celebrity Renovation entered the Billboard Pop Charts at the age of 16.
Debbie, who was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 31, 1970, studied piano with renowned classical pianist Morton Estrin. As time passed, she began to create and produce her own songs. In addition, she threw herself into the spotlight when an Atlantic Records executive heard her song Only in My Dreams. At the age of 16, this self-penned song landed her on the Billboard Pop Charts.
After being picked up by The Atlantic, her song received Top 40 radio airplay and reached #4 on the Hot 100 chart. Subsequently, Gibson received widespread acclaim for her nine studio albums and five top 10 singles: Foolish Beat, Only in My Dreams, Shake Your Love, Out of the Blue and Lost in Your Eyes. In the 1980s, she also performed the national anthem during the opening game of the Major League Baseball World Series.
In addition to her singing career, the Secret Celebrity Renovation star has also explored her skills in independent films and network television, such as Broadway and Grease. She has acted in several theater productions, including Funny Girl, Beauty and the Beast, Gypsy, Joseph, and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella, Chicago, Cabaret, Company, and The King and I.
In addition, the singer has been on many reality television programs, including American Juniors, The Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing with the Stars, Hallmark’s Wedding of Dreams and Summer of Dreams. Debbie was also a judge on Nickelodeon’s America’s Most Musical Family in 2019 and 2020. The singer also bought a property in Los Angeles in 2005 for $1.275 million. However, she failed to pay, and in 2009 she sold the property for $900,000.

In 1993, Gibson got engaged to businessman Jonathan Kanterman. However, the couple broke up in 2007. Additionally, in 2008, she started dating Dr. Rutledge Taylor, who has been a major influence in her life. When she was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2013, Taylor diligently helped her.
During the year that she hid her condition from the public, she was ridiculed for having a skeletal figure. However, in 2014, she took to her blog to reveal the tremendous help and support she was getting from her fiance in her battle with Lyme. Juma Entertainment and Robert Horowitz are producing Secret Celebrity Renovation, while Brady Connell and Peter DeVita are executive producing. The first episode of Secret Celebrity Renovation will air on CBS on July 29 at 8pm ET.
