Impidimp is a Dark- and Fairy-type Wily Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that evolves into Morgrem and Grimmsnarl after reaching specific level milestones. Introduced in Generation VIII of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Impidimps are small mischievous creatures that, similar to Shuppet, feed off the negative emotions of humans as means to restore energy. As their name implies, these devilish pocket monsters strongly resemble imps from the folklore of cultures long ago and grow in strength after evolving into Morgrem and Grimmsnarl. Grimmsnarl, in particular, wields notably superior stats in Attack and Special Attack, making it an excellent combatant against Dragon- or Psychic-type opponents.
Finding Impidimp is pretty straightforward in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as this Wily Pokémon only appears in the same habitat as Grafaiai — Tagtree Thicket. For those unfamiliar, Tagtree Thicket is a sizeable zone in the northeastern side of the Paldea region, specifically in the western corner of Area Three in the East Province. Trainers can reach this location by traveling from Levincia northwestward through the East Province. Next, they can enter the forest’s entrance directly north of Zapapico to access the Tagtree Thicket. Impidimp is a common spawn that can appear at any time in-game.
Catching and Evolving Impidimp in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Using a Quick Ball to catch Impidimp is the easiest way to capture this pocket monster in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. If players run short on Quick Balls that they found from exploration, they can always purchase more from Pokécenters across Paldea. However, remember that this Poké Ball type does not become available for sale until the player protagonist has acquired six Gym Badges. Alternatively, those who battle Impidimp to weaken it for a successful catch are encouraged to use Poison-, Steel-, and Fairy-type Moves, taking advantage of its elemental weaknesses.
Once players have caught Impidimp in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they can evolve it into Morgrem by leveling the Dark- and Fairy-type Wily Pokémon to Level 32. This process should not take too long, as most Wild Impidimps are at Levels 25-28 when found. Next, Morgrem can evolve into Grimmsnarl once it has reached Level 42, which might be significantly more challenging, depending on how much Rare and EXP Candy one has. Finally, if Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players want to teach their Impidimp some new Moves, Game8 states that players can get Impidimp Hair by catching this impish pocket monster. Impidimp Hair is used for crafting the Dark Pulse TM094 and Focus Blast TM158.
