How Troian Bellisario Became Sarah Rafferty’s ‘Jenga Doula’ (Exclusive)

Sarah Rafferty and Troian Bellisario’s friendship is enigmatic in the best way.

When Bellisario, Rafferty and their ex Suits actor Patrick J. Adams participated in an October game of Jenga to benefit War Child (of which all three actors are ambassadors), the friendship between the two women literally reached new heights.

According to Rafferty, 51, the competition became so intense at one point that Bellisario stepped in to support her. “Patrick yells at me,” Rafferty recalls, “and then Troian says, ‘Don’t listen to him. Sarah, look at me. Look at me. I’m your Jenga Doula.’”

Ahead of the event, which raised money to help children in conflict zones, Rafferty was under the impression she would be playing video games – but Adams, 42, and Sweet little liars alum, 38, quickly corrected her.

“Troian and Patrick are younger than me and they’re some of my best friends, but I’m like, ‘You guys are cool — do you understand games?’ And they said, ‘No, we were looking for Jenga. We have to actually play a real game.’ It was so much fun,” he recalls of the intense competition.

Rafferty shared a video of her mating with Jenga on Instagram, capturing the moment Bellisario came up with her unique nickname. “Got the Jenga Doula of a lifetime at @sleepinthegardn last night,” Rafferty captioned the clip. “24 hours ago, I didn’t even know what I was missing. Trojan completes me. 🤓❤️”

Rafferty, who stars in Netflix My life with the Walter Boystells PEOPLE, “I’m so happy that I got to do this with them and I’m so happy that I can highlight how funny Troian Bellisario, my Jenga Doula, is.”

She adds: “We should all be so happy. I hope you find yours.”

Like Rafferty, Adams has nothing but love for Bellisario, with whom he first started dating in 2009 and with whom he shares two daughters.

The actor often comments on his wife on Instagram, praising her motherly abilities. In a candid post, he reflected on a photo he rediscovered.

“That feeling when you’re looking through old photos and you’re stopped by a picture of your wife and you’re overwhelmed with gratitude, your breath goes away and your heart skips a beat,” he wrote alongside the black-and-white candid shot. “I love that moment. And I love you @sleepinthegardn.”
