Facts/Trivia

  • Hridi signed his stablemate Emerald, a 14-year-old gelding, on loan from Dutch international Ilse van Cranenbroek in October 2022. In an interview, discussing his relationship with his horse Jade, Hriddy said:

Last year I learned that Jade is very egotistical and you can’t force him to do anything unless he feels like it. Hence, I managed to understand his mindset and build a good rapport. He has extensive experience in international competitions. I wish I could train with him for another year. ”

  • Hriday Chheda is the only Indian to win an international CDI event.
  • In an interview, when talking about his experience participating in the Asian Games, Hridi said,

My horse was very nervous about the atmosphere in the arena. There are so many people! This kind of atmosphere is not something you get every day. So you can’t train for that. He was really scared to enter the arena. I had to really push him, give him confidence, and every time he stopped and refused to go one direction, I would turn him around and go another way. We did this two, three times, and finally, I won his trust again. Otherwise, we would not have won this medal today. “
