CORONATION street star Bill Fellows has quit the soap after three years.
The actor – who plays Stu Carpenter in the ITV soap – will step down from the main storyline later this year, The Sun can exclusively reveal.

A source said: “Three years is a long time to play one role and although Bill loved his time in Corrie, he is ready to move on.
“Earlier this year he told bosses he would like to leave at the end of his three-year deal and they have devised an exciting exit story for him.
“He’s going to be on screen for a while, but it’s given him the opportunity to agree to a number of jobs he’s been wanting to do later this year.”
Bill joined Coronation Street in 2021 after playing George in the international hit Ted Lasso – a role he continued to play until the end of the AppleTV series.

He had a long career starring in series such as Downton Abbey, Broadchurch and Casualty.
Viewers recently watched as ex-homeless man Stu decided to take bully Mason under his wing after discovering he had been sleeping in the bed.
Stu offered him a job at Yasmeena’s Speed Daal restaurant – despite local outcry – and even gave him his granddaughter’s room in Yasmeena’s house.
However, Stu has no idea that the thug Mason was the one who ran over his granddaughter Eliza – breaking her arm – earlier this year.
The revelation should be explosive and could put Stu back behind bars – but this time for the murder he committed.
He will become the latest star to leave the cobbles this year, with a number of other performances coming up.
