Presented by Love Island narrator Iain, Scarlett Moffatt and Stacey Solomon are regulars on the show, which sees celebrities face off against the audience to take on the challenge.

An insider told me: “CelebAbility has been a decent success, but ultimately the format was a bit tired and celebrity panel shows can feel dated.

“Bosses are always keen to try out new ideas and invest in fresh TV projects, it’s time for a change and Iain is not short of work.”

Viewers also started to get fed up, lashing out at Xu, formerly known as Twitter, with one commenting during a recent episode: “#Celebability doesn’t really work for me; it just looks like random pieces of other shows taped together.”

Another remarked: “I’m not sure anyone’s watching anymore.”

An ITV spokesman said: “There are currently no plans for another series.”

The comedian became famous when he got a voice job for Love Island in 2015.

He lives in London and is now best known as the narrator of the hit show, he started his stand-up career in his final year of law studies at the University of Edinburgh.

In the same year, he entered the finals of the Paramount Funniest Student and Chortle Student Comedian of the Year contests.

His first encounter with fame and the spotlight was in front of 750 people at the Glasgow Fruitmarket.

After being named one of Scotland’s hottest newcomers by The Scotsman, his road to success was paved and the rest is history.

The comedian has also appeared on CBBC’s The Dog Ate My Homework, Scoop, 12 Again, All Over The Place (hosted in 2015) and Drunk History.

Since 2017 he has hosted the ITV2 comedy game show CelebAbility, and in 2019 he performed tasks for Greg Davies on Taskmaster.

He is never far from the cameras as in his spare time Iain runs his own Twitch channel where viewers can interact with him during Fifa games.
