Hugh Jackman Works on Skipping Skills After He ‘Messed Up’ Routine on Opening Night of N.Y.C. Concert

Hugh Jackman is sweating!

On Sunday, January 26, the 56-year-old actor posted an Instagram video of his impressive skipping skills, after revealing the full routine two days earlier during his concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

“Here’s the thing… my trainer Beth Lewis and I have been working for months and months to get closer to being ready to do this jump rope choreo on stage,” Jackman explained in the caption.

“She has the patience of a saint!!! And while I still messed up, I enjoyed it. And repeat it 21 more times! Thank you @bethlewisfit #fromnewyorkwithlove @radiocitymusichall,” he added.

Jackman was pictured wearing a sweaty tank top and shorts, smiling as he skipped rope with ease in the middle of the gym. He then switched ropes on either side and crossed his arms as he continued to skip.

The Deadpool & Wolverine the old man finished the routine by picking up the rope and wrapping it around his hands in the air.

The skipping routine came as a surprise during the opening of his concert series From New York, with love at Radio City Music Hall in NYC on Friday, January 24th.

He shared his excited reaction to the successful debut on Instagram on Saturday, January 25.

“What an amazing night it was. Opening our show at @radiocitymusichall,” Jackman wrote in the caption. “He had all the feels. The love, the mistakes, the sweat, the tears, the laughter and, and, and the love that radiated from the audience was overwhelming. We all felt it.”

“And the icing on the cake is that we can hold the party 23 more times. Thanks to the cast and crew for their tireless effort and talent,” added Jackman.

From New York, with love is Jackman’s first concert in five years and features songs from his stage and film roles including Les Misérables, the greatest showman, The Boy from Oz and A musical man.

The star was supported at his first appearance by his friend and co-star Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy and Sutton Foster, who all attended Friday’s show.
