In a TikTok video, the fitness influencer looks back on her past, giving examples of people who went viral for different reasons.

She then shared her story of how it went viral, writing, “I went viral for exposing the flamingo pose.”

In the video, the fitness influencer filmed herself wearing skintight workout clothes in front of a mirror.

Turning to the side, her butt was in focus, visible with a round, toned bottom.

Then she changed her attitude, straightened up, and showed that her butt really wasn’t that big.

Charlotte then moved the camera behind her as she stood in her original pose. This showed that the mirror-further leg of hers was bent into a more bent position, which helped lift her bottom up.

“Catfish hunting has gone viral,” he wrote in the caption.

People had mixed reactions of surprise, disbelief, and a bit of hostility.

“That’s why there’s no point in comparing yourself to anything you see on social media. You can create an illusion about anything. Literally everything,” someone commented.

“All the girls at the gym do this pose for progress photos,” another person noted.

One person was particularly shocked by this fact, who wrote: “I was fooled! I did not know what that pose was.”

In the various videos that followed, Charlotte further demonstrated how to do the pose to demonstrate just how effective and deceptive it was.

While filming herself through the mirror, the text on the screen read: “Get closer to the mirror, hide the other leg, turn, BANG.”

When she hid her back leg, she bent it into a squat, exposing her behind. He also bent her waist further back so that most of her bottom was in the frame.

And in another video, responding to a comment asking for proof that other people had used the flamingo pose, Charlotte shared photos of another fitness influencer using it compared to her actual appearance without a pose.

“This is just one example of millions of people who often do this pose. Social media can be hard,” she wrote in the caption.

“People expect you to see yourself [like] whatever society has decided is the standard of beauty, there’s so much pressure,” she added, defending people who wear the pose but calling out harmful hoaxes.

“Oh my gosh… I just realized my progress isn’t that bad,” one person added.

“I was just comparing it to the unreal images on the internet.”

Charlotte demonstrated that she had to take a deep lunge and raise her hip for the pose.
