Ian Brady Cause of Death

Brady died on 15 May 2017 at the age of 79 at Ashworth Hospital, Maghull, England from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which had affected his lungs. According to sources, he was fed through a tube after he went on hunger strike in 1999.

He allegedly removed that tube just a few days before his death. He was found to be a psychopath and had been confined to Ashworth Hospital under high security since 1985. He received end-of-life care at the hospital and was reportedly bedridden for the last two years before he died.

But after committing five murders, Brady and his partner Hindley were finally arrested in October 1965 when their accomplice David Smith, Hindley’s brother-in-law, called the police after the pair killed their fifth and final victim.
