Ian Falconer was best known as the author and illustrator of the beloved Olivia series of children’s books, about a feisty and intelligent young pig. He died Tuesday March 7, 2023 in Rowayton, Norwalk, Connecticut, New York City.
The author, set designer and costume designer was 63 years old at the time of his death. Falconer’s attorney and agent, Conrad Rippy, said his cause of death was kidney failure.
Originally created as a Christmas present in 1996 for Ian’s three-year-old niece Olivia, Olivia’s first book was published in 2000.
