The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and IIM Indore have entered into a game-changing collaboration. The partnership signifies a commitment to promote excellence and innovation in important areas. Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, and Ved Mani Tiwari, Executive Director, NSDC, signed the MoU online on September 6, 2023.
This agreement, which has an expiry date of three years, expands its scope to include unique NSDC Impact initiatives that focus on socioeconomically disadvantaged groups in society and areas such as border regions and aspirational districts.

Prof. Rai pointed out that this partnership is ready to develop a special model of social impact supported by cutting-edge initiatives that use new methodologies. These programs will offer qualified assistance to underserved areas, communities, people and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), nurturing a qualified ecosystem ready for commercial success. A focus on robust research initiatives is a pillar of this ground-breaking MoU.
“We will engage in collaborative research activities, including surveys and qualitative research methods, to gain deep insights into industry dynamics and stakeholder needs,” he said.
By building a social/rural entrepreneurship incubator, the cooperation shows its focus on encouraging social and rural entrepreneurship.
The alliance will offer guidance and assistance in the areas of data analytics and AI-enabled suggestions, business optimization and decision-making. According to the official statement, a key component is the joint creation of an impact assessment system that highlights the real impact on individuals and goes beyond mere facts.
