The daughter of veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja Bhavatharini passed away on January 25, 2024 after a battle with cancer. She was in Sri Lanka where she was being treated. She was an award-winning singer who died at the age of 47. On January 25, 2024, Kamal Haasan tweeted about his brother Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter, “Delighted. I don’t know what to do with my dear brother Ilayaraja. I mentally grab his hands. Pavadarini’s death is something that cannot be tolerated or accepted. My brother Ilayaraja should not lose heart in this greatness. My sincere condolences to the Bhavadharini family.”

Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter’s husband, who is R. Sabariraj?
Daughter of veteran composer Ilaiyaraaj Bhavatharini was married to R. Sabariraj who is an advertising executive. They got married in 2002. Her husband is the son of SN Ramachandran who is a former journalist.
Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter’s husband’s father got into publishing and started Kannan Advertising.
Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter Bhavatharini and her husband had two children a son and a daughter.
Bhavatharini was the daughter of music composer Ilaiyaraaja. She made her singing debut in 1995 with the song “Masthana Masthana” which is a song from the movie Raasaiyya. She has sung for many Tamil films.
Few of her songs which are so popular like “Oru Deivam Thandha Poove” by Kannathil Muthamittal, “Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu” by Bharathi, “Unnai Kandane” by Parijatham and “Enna Solla Pogirai” by Kandukondain Kandukondain.
Ilaiyaraaji was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2023. She was treated in Chennai and later tried Ayurvedic treatment in Sri Lanka.
However, her health did not improve and she passed away in hospital on January 25, 2024 in Sri Lanka. For her funeral rituals, her body was brought back to Chennai where the last rites were performed.
