I’m a celebrity…Get me out of here! fans just discovered that Tulisa Contostavlos is a non-baby.

The singer, who is among this year’s campers, was only 11 years old when she joined the hip-hop group N-Dubz.

But Tulisa, 36, is actually the daughter of a famous pop star, who herself has enjoyed a hugely successful career in the music industry.

Tulisa’s father, Plato Contostavlos, was the main player in the band Mungo Jerry in the 70s.

Plato played keyboards in the group – best known for the number one song In The Summertime, which was released in 1970.

Tulisa’s uncle Byron, who is the father of her cousin and fellow N-Dubz member Dappy, also played bass guitar in Mungo Jerry.

Sharing his surprise on X, formerly known as Twitter, one I’m A Celebrity fan wrote: “How did I just realize that Mungo Jerry is the father of Tulisa (N-Dubz)?!?”

Another added: “I didn’t know Tulisa Contostavlos’ dad was the keyboard player in Mungo Jerry.”

Before heading into the jungle, Tulisa opened up about growing up with her pop star father.

Speaking to Fearne Cotton for her Happy Place podcast, she explained that she knew she wanted to be a singer from an early age.

Fearne told Tulisa: “You grew up in a really musical household.

“Your mum was a singer, your dad was in Mungo Jerry and you felt that music was something that mattered.”

Tulisa told her: “My dad had a little studio in Dollis Hill and sometimes he would bring me there when he was working.

“He put me behind the microphone at the age of five. I sang the Little Mermaid.

“I just knew there was nothing else I felt passionate about.”

However, not everyone thinks that Tulisa and Dappy are neo-babies.

Defending the pair and their bandmate Fazer, another fan said online: “I don’t think they’re technically non-kids because N-Dubz first became popular on pirate radio.

“But also Dappy’s dad was their manager and their first album was named after him.. but yeah, they weren’t even the main guys in Mungo Jerry, who nobody cares about anyway.”
