I’m A Celeb in ‘sexism’ row as viewers slam Nella Rose over ‘toxic’ views about men in camp

I’m Famous star Nella Rose has found herself at the center of a ‘sexism’ row after viewers slammed her ‘discriminatory’ comments about men.

Many fans of the ITV show were outraged after Nella started ranting about how the men do all the work at the camp.

Speaking to Josie Gibson, Nella commented how impressed she was with the boys gathering firewood and doing hard work around the camp.

She noted, “So the men should go out, hunt, get the wood, start the fire, while the women keep the vibes going.”

“Yes,” Josie agreed, as the pair burst into laughter.

– That’s how it should be – added Nella. “Suffragettes fought for this.”

“It gave me faith in men again,” Josie weighed in.

Nella then added: “Imagine if it was a bunch of men my age, they’d say ‘Why are we the only ones getting the wood?’ These are real men. Men, real men. The Hercules kind.”

Nella is then shown chatting on the bush telegraph, where she says: “This camp has restored my faith in men 100%. Mmm, macho men. Wow. They even cook. Hunter gatherers. Women are just… we’re just here to give birth to children at the moment. That’s it, I love it here.”

While Nella laughed as she spoke, suggesting her comments may have been tongue-in-cheek, many on social media were unimpressed and pointed out how such remarks would fall flat if they were coming from a man.

One fumed at Xu, formerly of Twitter: “Imagine guys saying that – girls should cook, they’d be called sexist and probably fired.”

Another added: “Is Nella making a sexist comment? Add that to the list of annoying and stupid things she’s done.”

A third said: “Imagine if one of the guys started saying the sh*** Nella just said about women. Everything she just said was sexist, ignorant and the reason why so many men struggle to open up because of this ideal ‘macho’ man’. Disgusting.”

A fourth agreed: “Nella is downright sexist on national TV. If a man said that…”

Fifth chimed in, “Nella is sexist. If men said that about women, she’d be so mad at them.”

And a sixth added: “I legitimately hate the sexism in the #ImACelebrity camp. I don’t paint women in a good light at all with all this bull****. “Real men” is a toxic idea too. Real men come in many forms.”

Meanwhile, another accused Nella of “putting women’s rights back 20 years”.

Others, however, came to her defense and claimed that she did not deserve the criticism, especially since Josie also joined the chat.

One wrote: “It’s so funny watching you say Nella is sexist while no one says anything about Josie laughing and joining in.”

Another confirmed this sentiment: “Nella and josie both agree on the same thing but Nella is bad??”

“Why is everyone talking about Nella, she’s actually really funny,” said a third.
