I’m A Celebrity chaos as stars quit exhausting Bushtucker trials after ITV toughen up challenges

I’M A Celeb’s campmates are already at breaking point — with the exhausted stars on the verge of giving up after a series of tough challenges.

They went through a series of back-to-back trials, with a source telling The Sun that the demanding tasks left them “absolutely screwed” – with one celebrity giving up on them altogether.

YouTuber Nella Rose (26) shouted ‘get me out of here!’ to complete her Touchdown of Terror challenge – the second time she’s been out this week.

The source said the exhausted campers were pushed to the limit by the grueling day.

The schedule was packed with games as part of the new sports-themed event, The Scarena, and the cast were asked to shoot for multiple assignments.

A source said yesterday: “It was a big day of temptation and the bosses wanted bigger, better, stronger – but the celebs had nothing left in the tank.

“During the breaks in the recording, they are well down, they look over everything and everything but does not give up. “They have had enough. It’s hot on the Scarene set, and that doesn’t help either.

“Obviously well-being is a priority at all times, but it was hard to watch celebrities struggle like that.”

Nella and Sam Thompson for the home team were up against Grace Dent and Nigel Farage in the first trial.

Food critic Grace admitted to Josie Gibson: “I’m fed up with everything. I’ve had enough. I just want to go home.

“I don’t have much in me right now. I’m just saving face for everyone.”

Grace and Nella had to wear American football helmets full of jungle nastiness while completing the task.

But as more creatures were added to Nell’s helmet, she pulled her emergency cord to exit the contest.

She said: “I’m sorry guys, I’m sorry. I let myself down, I let my team down.”

Sam thought, “You can’t do anything if you can’t breathe. What are you going to do? Swallow cockroaches?”

Grace was rushed to the doctor after a bug got lodged in her ear canal – but the games continued for other camp friends.

After making it through, she commented, “I really needed it. I really needed to do well in that trial because I was really doubting myself.”

Jamie Lynn Spears and Danielle Harold faced off against Marvin Humes and Josie in a Power Shower rehearsal where they had to soak up the liquid while wearing giant sponge balls.

Then Frankie Dettori, Fred Sirieix, Tony Bellew and Nick Pickard were drawn into another non-stop game called Handball.

The celebs are currently involved in the Scaren split-camp challenge, which has left half of them living on a limited diet of rice and beans.

Camps competed in the latest challenges to win an all-you-can-eat luxury breakfast.

Meanwhile, it can be revealed that Nigel’s secret game plan to be in the spotlight has backfired.

He went wild this week when he revealed he was hoping to get “25 per cent” more airtime by being nominated for the Bushtucker Trials.

But influencer Nella — who has had fierce clashes with Farage and Fred from First Dates — has been in the spotlight so far.

Research suggests that she appeared in 3,777 seconds – about 63 minutes – of screen time in the first four episodes.

That compares to 3411 for Nigel — about 57 minutes.

The statistic will be music to the ears of TV buffs, who were hoping to deny the former Ukip boss a platform on I’m A Celebrity.

The Sun revealed this week that the ITV crew are all up in arms because they think stunts like Farage’s nudity in the shower and jungle bath allowed him to score.

A source said: “Nigel’s political views are at odds with many who work on I’m A Celeb — so giving him so much screen time might be the last thing some of the crew want to do, but Nigel is too good, not too much.

“The crew feels torn. They are all professionals and anyone can recognize that Farage makes great television.”

Last night, a spokesperson for the show said: “It is always our intention to broadcast a show that is a fair and accurate portrayal of camp life for all our celebrities.”
