I'm a Shopping Editor, and These Are My Favorite Walmart Finds from Last Year I'm Bringing Into 2025

One of the perks of my job as a shopping editor is testing various products. In 2024, I tried over 100 beauty, fashion, home, and travel products, and a significant amount were from my favorite under-the-radar retailer: Walmart.

I’ve been following Walmart’s offerings for two years now, so you could say I’m an expert on what’s worth buying, especially as someone who reviews items firsthand and puts their quality to the test. Here are eight must-haves at Walmart that I discovered last year and plan to continue using in 2025, including luxury-smelling perfumes, velvety blankets, roomy shoulder bags, high-quality cardigans, and more than $12.

Editor-tested must-haves at Walmart

  • No Boundaries Hands-Free Shoulder Bag, $12
  • Better Homes & Gardens Natural Tie Dye Ruched Faux Fur Blanket, $25
  • Dossier Musky Musk Eau de Parfum, $29
  • Marnur Electric Blanket, $43
  • Dave & Jenny Marrs for Better Homes & Gardens Jute floral accent rug, $20
  • Free Assemble Long Sleeve Cardigan, $26
  • Time and Tru Tall Stretch Over-the-Knee Boots, $25 (was $35)
  • Sabrina Carpenter Cherry Baby Eau de Parfum, $30

After seeing it trending on social media, I thought about buying a Baggu bag but couldn’t justify the price at the time. This No Boundaries Hands-Free crossbody is almost identical and a fraction of the price. I traveled with it on a two-week trip to Italy and was able to fit my essentials, including bulkier items like a camera, portable charger, and passport pouch — with room to spare.

I have several throws, but this Better Homes & Gardens faux fur style has quickly become my favorite. It looks and feels more expensive than its $25 price tag, with customers saying it reminds them of a $200 Ugg blanket. In fact, I raved about it so much that many of my friends told me that they ended up buying it and loved it as much as I did.

I’m a fan of expensive fragrances, but my wallet is not. After falling in love with Juliette Has a Gun—a high-priced designer fragrance—I stumbled upon Dossier’s Musky Musk Eau de Parfum inspired by it. This $29 perfume smells almost as amazing as my top $300+ bottles and deserves many compliments. If you need a new signature scent for 2025, I highly recommend this one.

Quiet luxe fashion was a major trend in 2024 and I’m continuing it in 2025. This long sleeve cardigan is so well made and feels like a more expensive J.Crew style. The gently cropped hem is easy to style with high-waisted jeans, and the large matte gold buttons add a fabulous touch that makes it look way more expensive than $26.
