Inder was actively involved in drama activities during his school years. His good sense of comedic rhythm led him to often play comedic roles in school plays.
Sahani learned about the genre of stand-up comedy from a drama teacher in grade 12. After graduation, he started his career in stand-up comedy at the age of 21. His first open mic performance was at the Akshara Theatre in New Delhi. In an interview, Inder revealed that he failed miserably in his first four open mic performances. He spent 16 months preparing for his first comedy set, titled “Mote Log, Keede & Horny Autowalas”. He shared the video of this comedy set on his YouTube channel Chai-Matthi Tales. As of 2021, the video has been viewed more than 5 million times.
Inder co-founded the comedy company Chai-Matthi Tales with two struggling stand-up comedians, Ravi Khurana and Gourav Mahna, in 2017. The company produces talk shows, parody videos, YouTube sketches, and web series. There is a YouTube channel called Chai-Matthi Tales where all three comedians upload their stand-up videos.

- Comedians like Raju Srivastav, Sunil Pal and Kapil Sharma inspired him to pursue stand-up comedy. According to him, in school, Inder was famous for his imitation of Inspector Shamsher Singh, a role often played by Kapil Sharma.
- In an interview, when asked what he would do if he were prime minister for a day, he said:
Sabse Pehla kaam main karunga ki main education sudhargunga is state ki aur main shuruwat unse karunga jin hone muje di this. Main education ministry ko Seedha karunga is desh ki.
- According to Inder, he had always struggled with his weight as he was never able to stick to his diet. When the nation was on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the comedian underwent a physical transformation with the help of a strict diet and regular workouts. In an interview, he revealed that he stuck to his diet plan for months without breaking it.
- After the coronavirus lockdown, Sahani won the title of “Sabse Funny Kaun?”, a talk show that aired on Flipkart Video on September 28, 2020. The host of the show is actor and comedian Varun Sharma.
- In 2021, Inder fulfilled his lifelong dream of doing a comedy tour all over India with his comedy special Ab Hai Apki Baari.

In every such meeting I have attended in the past four months, my advice has been the same, which is to keep writing and keep trying. Zakir khan ki ek statement hai ki koi bhi esa passion nahi hai jo work ke saath carry na kara ja sake because if you don’t take it seriously aur aap keh rahe ho ki aapko we passion ke liye time nahi mil pa raha so then wo aapka passion nahi hai. ”
