Inga Schlingmann News

The mother-son legal drama pilot for CBS from writer-executive producer Scott Prendergast and executive producer Phil McGraw has Madeline Wise (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and newcomer Inga Schlingmann as series regulars alongside Geena Davis and Skylar Astin. Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro (Charmed) have also joined as executive producers and showrunners.

Todd (Astin), a misfit member of his family and a talented but aimless private investigator, is at the center of the untitled drama. He takes a job as an intern investigator for his mother, Joan (Davis), a high-profile lawyer still reeling from a recent divorce, despite her contrasting personalities.

The wise will act. Allison is Todd’s (Astin) diplomatic sister and the ER trauma doctor. She wants to maintain harmony between Todd and his controlling mother Joan (Davis). Her two brothers avoid many of the family responsibilities that Allison takes on.

She is married to the very attractive but dimwitted Chuck, who she knows is intellectually inferior and often busy and somewhat disorganized. She’s about to dismantle the perfect life that Joan has created for her because she’s not happy with it.

Schlingmann plays Susan, a “classy legal bombshell with Clark Kent glasses” who works with Joan. She was Todd’s ex-girlfriend, but obviously she moved on because she recently bought his first house, she got engaged and moved on. She years ago destroyed Todd’s heart because he ended up thinking he was too young.

Through Stage 29 Productions, Prendergast executive produces alongside Kruger and Shapiro, as well as Phil McGraw, Jay McGraw and Julia Eisenman. The studio is called CBS Studios.

Wise’s recent credits include Paramount’s Star Trek: Picard and HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. She starred in the Fox pilot Lovestruck as well as playing Kat in six episodes of HBO’s Crashing. She recently appeared in the sci-fi drama Lapsis. She is represented by Insight Entertainment and A3 Artists Agency.

The CW Charmed reboot is currently being led by Kruger and Shapiro. Extant and Salvation on CBS are also among the top and EP honors for the married creative team. In addition, they executive produced and oversaw the newsroom for Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, as well as the creation and production of Necessary Roughness for the USA Network.
