Inside lair where Hamas terrorists plotted Israel kibbutz atrocity with 3D model and grenades yards from kids’ bedroom

TOYS, children’s clothes and football stickers lie near a bomb factory in the ruins of Hamas headquarters shown to The Sun.

Just a month ago, a battalion commander and his terrorist troops used this four-bed apartment to plan the cross-border killing and kidnapping spree that started the war.

Israeli troops have since shelled the house into oblivion and sent tanks into Gaza.

Everywhere they go, they find evidence of where the terrorist plot began.

In the apartment, the soldiers showed us a rough 3D model of what they suspect is the kibbutz that was the target of the October 7 attack in which 1,400 were slaughtered and 240 taken hostage.

Israel’s revenge operation Iron Sword is in full swing and they refuse to stop until Hamas is gone.

In an apartment in Shati, northern Gaza, The Sun also showed rolled-up maps buried next to hand grenades, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition, TNT and explosive charges.

Commander’s epaulettes, military uniforms and walkie-talkies were also found.

As we stood in a room without an outer wall, Israel Defense Forces Major Maayan Mulla told us, “There are signs that people lived here.

“Look over there, the chairs, the wardrobes.

“This is a normal place for people like us, but inside this apartment is a military base with a family.

“How do we know? Because of the intelligence we found inside.

“Be careful from here.

“He (the commander) had direct visibility to the missile depot on the beach.

“There is a tunnel on the other side of this building.

“We are looking for another one that is connected to him and Gaza City.

“This is the parents’ room, and there is the children’s room.

“Their children were sleeping while they were making bombs in the back room which had been converted into a workshop.

“They made them here—here, in the house.”

Children’s clothes are strewn across the floor, including Fireman Sam’s pajamas.

In the middle of the chaos, a toy car was overturned.

The cupboard turned to the side contained stickers of soccer heroes Lionel Messi and the Real Madrid team.

The bomb factory was in the room across the street.

The white table was strewn with wires and tools that were obviously used to make weapons laid out on the floor.

The Quality Street can on the table contained wires and tools.

Nearby, partially buried under the rubble, was a plastic toy AK-47.

The soldiers from the unit that followed us took the maps they had confiscated, put them on the wall and started stacking the cellophane wrappers over the top.

Transparent maps are drawn in permanent marker with what appear to be routes.

We sneaked into Gaza in a Humvee shortly after 10am, passing through the wire fence that separates it from Israel.

One soldier told me they built their own road to the enclave after Hamas blew up the main highway.

On our trip we saw the Israeli flag flying in various places.

Tanks and 4x4s contained troops smiling and giving the V for victory.

At the meeting point, with sporadic gunfire, we switched to the Puma tank and rumbled deeper into the district.

The towers were leveled in several airstrikes.

The landscape is apocalyptic, a desolate war zone of dust, sand and ruins.

From time to time, innocent civilians are seen once occupying these houses and walking the streets.

Rocking chairs and armchairs are visible in the apartment on the second floor.

Some outer walls have been partially demolished.

Others were completely destroyed.

The interior walls bear traces of bullet holes and traces of shrapnel.

Now the only real signs of life are troops hurrying from building to building.

Many gathered to watch the diggers push up hills of sand in an attempt to uncover more tunnels.

So far, 90 have been found in this area alone.

Each one is systematically destroyed.

One, wider than most, was used to store drones.

A few miles away, the IDF is fighting in the Hamas stronghold of Gaza City.

While we were standing next to his tank, Major Mulla told me: “If you want to learn the future, read history.”

“What they did on October 7 defies imagination. It defied humanity.

“They (Hamas) cannot exist in this world.

“We face a very real choice at this point: them or us.

THE WAR IN GAZA IS PAUSED

By Joe Morgan

ISRAEL will introduce four-hour daily pauses in the bombing of northern Gaza, the White House announced.

The first humanitarian window will give civilians space to flee the area at the heart of the IDF’s campaign against Hamas, it claims.

The breaks will also help return all 239 Israeli hostages to their families, said US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby

He said the US goal is to have at least 150 humanitarian trucks enter Gaza every day.

Mr Kirby added: “We urge the Israelis to minimize civilian casualties.”
