Inside Leonardo DiCaprio’s Star-Studded 50th Birthday Party: He ‘Was on a High’ (Exclusive)

Leonardo DiCaprio lives for his 50th birthday!

The Oscar winner celebrated with loved ones during a party at his Los Angeles residence on Saturday, November 9 – two days before his official age milestone.

A source tells PEOPLE exclusively that the star-studded affair was attended by Brad Pitt, Tobey Maguire, Robin Thicke and April Love Geary, Odell Beckham Jr., Tyga, Teyana Taylor, Jamie Foxx, Bill Maher, Alexander “AE” Edwards, Paris Hilton, Cara Delevingne , Chris Rock, Kevin Connolly and Todd Phillips, along with DiCaprio’s parents, George DiCaprio and Irmelin Indenbirken.

Singer and producer Anderson .Paak was in the DJ booth and carrot cake was served to party guests as they danced the night away until the wee hours of the morning.

According to the source, DiCaprio “first had a family and friends dinner, followed by a big party.”

The insider adds that it is Killers of the Flower Moon star was in a social mood, declaring: “He was incredibly happy and hugged all his guests. Leo was high all night.”

As for the guests who attended the birthday party, a source says that Pitt, 60, “was in the front patio of the party all night.”

“He was in a great mood, he was super sociable and he was saying hello to everyone,” adds the insider about the actor who arrived with girlfriend Ines de Ramon.

“Jamie was courting in one part of the party and Todd was in another,” a source told PEOPLE of Foxx, 56, and filmmaker Phillips, 53.

In an interview with ABC News’ Chris Connelly that airs on Good morning America last November DiCaprio told Connelly what he wanted to accomplish before he turned 50 this year.

“You know what? Just another movie,” the actor said, hinting that he hopes to get back in front of the camera for another role. “Another movie.”

Before the question, Connelly, 67, and DiCaprio reflected on how quickly the years have passed. “You’re 49. How the hell are you that happen?” teased a reporter who frequently interviewed DiCaprio during his 13-year reign covering movies for MTV News.

“I have no idea,” DiCaprio replied, recalling, “We were talking about our first interview, which was maybe 30 years ago.”
