Invicible Creator Argues Invincible Can Beat Thanos And Superman

One Invincible co-creator thinks that Invincible could take down Superman and Thanos — even if Thanos has the Infinity Gauntlet. The son of Omni-Man, Invincible is a half-alien superhero with powers that make him invulnerable, capable of flight, and ready to take down the worst of the world’s villains. While still young, Invincible has already had to wrestle with enemies far beyond his weight class.

Since Invincible can potentially take on villains stronger than even Omni-Man, in an interview hosted by Skybound on YouTube, Invincible co-creator Ryan Ottley argued that the hero could defeat Thanos and Superman.

While Invincible‘s other creators, Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker argued that Thanos would defeat Invincible easily, Ottley fervently disagreed. Check out his quote below:

“I think even with [the Infinity Gauntlet]. He’s about to snap, and he just breaks the fingers. Rips the glove. Now Invincible has the gauntlet.”

“Invincible demolishes Superman.”

Could Invincible Really Beat Thanos Or Superman?

While Invincible may be young, he certainly is powerful enough to take Thanos and Superman on, though the question remains of whether he would survive. While Superman would likely spare him in the event of a victory, Thanos would not. It raises the stakes of a fight tremendously, especially since Invincible will likely be facing powerful Kryptonian-like villains in the Viltrumites in Invincible season 2.

Unfortunately for Invincible, Kirman and Walker are most likely right about his chances against Thanos. While he could certainly prove to be a challenge if Thanos didn’t have an Infinity Gauntlet, all Thanos would need to do is snap his fingers or will Invincible away with the Reality Stone. While a quick move could save Invincible‘s hero, every Avenger’s powers combined weren’t enough to stop Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, so it isn’t likely that the inexperienced Invincible would be brutal enough to stop the Mad Titan.

As for Superman, Invincible’s chances may be higher, but his performance against Omni-Man in Invincible season 1 makes that victory unlikely. After all, Superman is faster, stronger, and even more formidable than Omni-Man. While Invincible may offer its hero a group of allies to stand at his side, Superman has the same benefits with the Justice League. While Ottley may be right that the young hero could win in the right circumstance, it isn’t likely that he will be finding these crossovers anytime soon.
