Is Black Noir really dead? Discover the truth behind the death of the popular character Black Noir in the American superhero television series The Boys.
Who is Black Noir?
Black Noir, also known as Noir, is a character in the comic book series The Boys created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, as well as the television series and franchise of the same name developed by Eric Kripke.
There are three versions of Noir in the series. In both the comics and the TV series, Noir is a member of the hedonistic and reckless group of superheroes known as the Seven, which is affiliated with Vought-Americana. He was portrayed as a parody of silent ninja-type characters such as Batman, Snake Eyes and Deathstroke.
In the comic series, it is revealed that Noir is actually a Homelander clone, created as a backup plan to replace him if he goes rogue. However, driven to insanity by a lack of purpose, Noir plans to inflict various atrocities on Homelander in order to drive him insane and take his place. He is eventually killed by Homelander and Billy Butcher.

Is Black Noir really dead?
Yes, Black Noir is really dead. The third season of The Boys ended with the death of Black Noir, but there is a possibility that the character will return in the fourth season, and it also includes a twist from the source material of the comics.
Throughout the first two seasons, Black Noir had a minimal presence, but in the third season he took the central role of the enigmatic and silent assassin. While his death in Season 3 was shockingly gruesome, viewers can expect to see Black Noir, or at least a variation of the character, again in future episodes.
What happened to Black Noir in The Boys?
In the latest episode, which was released on Prime Video, Homelander, played by Antony Starr, brutally killed Black Noir. He did this by thrusting his hand forcefully through Black Noir’s chest and ripping out his organs. Showrunner Eric Kripke explained that this decision was not premeditated, but came naturally from the story.
As they explored Homelander’s character and witnessed his gradual unraveling, it became apparent that there had to be a significant Homelander reaction to Black Noir. This was because Black Noir had spent his entire life deceiving Homelander about something that Homelander deeply desired.
Who plays Black Noir?
In the television series adaptation, Noir, played by Nathan Mitchell and Fritzy-Klevans Destine, is portrayed as a brain-damaged black superman named Earving. He remains loyal to Vought CEO Stan Edgar. In “The Boys Presents: Diabolical”, Noir is shown guiding Homelander in his early career.
Following Earving’s death in the third season finale of the main series, Eric Kripke confirmed in July 2022 that Nathan Mitchell would play Noir’s replacement in the upcoming fourth season of the TV series.
Nathan Mitchell is a Canadian actor known for playing the character Earving, also known as Black Noir, in the Amazon Prime Video series “The Boys”. This series is based on the popular comic of the same name. Mitchell’s convincing performance as Black Noir earned him recognition and praise from the audience.
Fritzy-Klevans Destine is also an actor known for his roles in various television series. He appeared as a cadet in the series “Batwoman” and portrayed the character of Sean Smith in “Superman & Lois”. Destine’s talent and contribution to these series showcased his acting abilities and added depth to the characters he portrayed.

Black Noir was a superhero member of the Seven who wore a dark costume and was mostly silent. He possessed super strength, heightened senses, and exceptional martial arts skills, making him a formidable and stealthy warrior.
Criminals were terrified at the very mention of his name. Black Noir’s origins and true identity were shrouded in mystery, further enhancing his enigmatic and terrifying persona. It is revealed that he trained extensively with Master Sensei to become a deadly assassin.
For the general public, the person behind Black Noir’s mask remained a complete mystery, enhancing his appearance of terror and intrigue.
