Reports indicate that human remains discovered in Mentone more than 3 decades ago have been identified as belonging to a missing four-year-old boy. According to a press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, a human skull was found by a quail hunter on October 27, 1991 in a remote area near Florida Street and Greenspot Road. Reports said the remains were in a plastic garbage bag that had been torn.
When the police went through the garbage bag, they found the clothes of the missing child. The case went cold when an autopsy revealed the skull belonged to a boy between the ages of 4 and 8, but no remains could be discovered after that. The mother of the missing child, identified as Clark, said her son “disappeared from the San Bernardino Police Department in 1991.” However, the police were never able to locate the boy. He disappeared in 1987, when he was only 4 years old.
