Alaskan Bush People is a Discovery Channel docudrama-style reality television series that follows the lives of the Brown family as they try to survive in the bush while cut off from modern society.

The series premiered on May 6, 2014, and was filmed in and around Hoonah, Alaska and Chichagof Island. The following seasons were filmed in Okanogan County, Washington.

However, in February 2020, supporters of the series demanded that it be canceled following cast member Bear Brown’s drug use case.

‘Alaskan Bush People’ Tribute to Lost Member in Season 13

Fans demanded that the concert be cancelled.

The alleged problem arose after Bear’s girlfriend Raiven Adams, with whom he shares a son, allegedly accused him of drug abuse.

She further said he promised revenge if she went public with the allegations. She did come forward with the truth and as a result was granted a temporary restraining order against him.

After the news, people started criticizing the show and demanded that it be cancelled.

Another added on Twitter, “Bear Brown of the Alaskan Bush People has a restraining order for abusing his pregnant ex. He allegedly took a lot of drugs. The family is chaos and should not be on television.”

Bear and Raiven are currently married and live with their one-year-old child, Rivera.

Has the Alaskan Bush People Show been cancelled?

When the scandal broke, Alaskan Bush People was off the air, and there was no word on a 12th season. The latest episode [at the time] it aired on January 29, 2020 and was the final episode of season 11.

Despite the outcry, the series is not dead and will return to the air on August 23, 2020 with its 12th season. Season 12 aired eight episodes from October 11, 2020 to October 11, 2021.

In Season 13, ‘Alaskan Bush People’ paid tribute to a lost member. After season 12, the show, particularly the Brown family, was saddened by the death of late patriarch Billy Brown.
