Orphan: First Kill, the prequel to the horror film Orphan, returns with Isabelle Fuhrman, 24, reprising her role as Esther, the infamous orphan. Paramount has released the long-awaited trailer for the sequel to the original cult classic horror film. On August 19, 2022, the film will be released in theaters and available for streaming on Paramount+.

Who is Isabelle Fuhrman? How does she play 9-year-old Esther again?
In addition to Esther, Isabelle Fuhrman is a 24-year-old American actress who has achieved a number of notable roles. She played Clove in the 2012 dystopian adventure film The Hunger Games. She has appeared in films such as Escape Room: Tournament of Champions and The Novice. For her role in The Novice, Fuhrman won Best Actress in an American Narrative Feature Film at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival.
Fuhrman, the lead actress in Siročet, was 12 years old when it was first shown. Esther, an adopted child who turns out to be a 33-year-old lady, is portrayed by her. She will not be playing an older version of the fearsome but legendary villain in the upcoming film as it is a prequel. A 24-year-old would have to portray a 9-year-old without the help of de-aging or even CGI, which would be a struggle for a young actor.
When asked about the position, Fuhrman stated:
“I like the challenge of playing a child, which has never happened on film before.” I was reading old film history and all that, and I thought, ‘Oh, an adult has never reprized a character she played as a child,'” she says.
She went on to say:
“For example, Will Smith just made that movie [Gemini Man] where you grow someone up, but to reprise a role as an adult that you actually played as a youngster has never happened before.” It’s almost impossible. And we succeeded. The new actress also said that no special effects or “crazy make-up techniques” were used in the film. He says that’s what works in the film since the viewer “can’t really figure out” why she looks like a 9-year-old, but she does. “And it’s incredibly disturbing,” says Isabelle.

The first Orphan film ends with the murder of Esther by the Colemans, the last family to adopt her. Since she was killed at the time, the new film Orphan: First Kill will focus on the story of Esther, whose real name is Leena.
