A BUTCHER has thrown the hook — leaving dozens of customers without a turkey.
One 80-year-old man who spent £120 on a bird had to fork out £100 for another.

Others paid more than £140 for the basket but were referred to “liquidators” by owner Neville Hallis.
Bookies were delighted by his shock closure of the New Forest butcher shop in Lyndhurst, Hants.
A notice in the window blamed “high energy bills and slow customs” and said details “will be passed on to our liquidators who may contact you”.
One customer, who did not want to be named, said: “It’s disgusting that he was taking money until the day before closing.”
Local retired engineer Tony Herbert won £230 in butchers vouchers in a meat raffle and saved it for Christmas.
He said: “I ordered a turkey about two weeks ago.
“I gave it to a young family for Christmas dinner. But then the shop closed without warning.”
He added: “After he took over a year ago, all he had in the window was Scotch eggs and pies. I think he was a very naughty boy.”
Store owner Keith Burgoyne, who ran it for decades, has returned from Thailand.
He said: “I knew his power was out and I told him to get the generators on. I’m very upset.”
The Stag Hotel’s country pub has come together, offering meat from its butchers at wholesale prices.
Landlord Steve Harris said: “Customers are just very disappointed with the way it’s been managed.”
Last night, a woman who answered the door of his home in Southampton said: “He’s not in.”
Mr Hallis ceased working for Sargents Butchers of Dibden Purlieu in 2021 and is no longer associated with them.
