dr. Amber Johnston, a clinical psychologist in neuropsychology, said brain teasers help keep our brains active, young and have a positive effect on mental well-being.
She said: “What is well understood about the brain and mental health is that people are strongly driven to learn.
“Because we are naturally motivated to challenge and learn, brain teasers fit into the fun category of hobbies that can improve our mental health.”
Optical illusions are thought to help improve attention span, concentration and overall cognitive abilities.
