Jack Nicholson's 6 Children: All About His Sons and Daughters

Jack Nicholson may be one of the most famous actors on the planet, but he is also the father of six children.

Radiation the star’s first child, Jennifer Nicholson (59), was born in 1963 in his marriage to Sandra Knight. Seven years later, he had a son, Caleb Goddard (52), s Five easy pieces actress Susan Anspach. In 1981, Nicholson had his third child, Honey Hollman, 42, with model Winnie Hollman, although Honey was raised by her mother in Denmark. He shares daughter Lorraine (34) and son Ray (32) with actress Rebecca Broussard. In 1994, he welcomed his youngest daughter Tessa Gourin (30) with Jennine Gourin. However, Jack and Tessa were estranged for most of her life.

In an interview with S. in 2010 AARP MagazineJack spoke about his relationship with Lorraine and Ray, saying, “We’ve always gotten along. I want to be an inspiration or a good influence on them in some way without weighing them down. It’s their time of life to find out who they are.”

He added: “I’ve always read to them, from childhood onwards; I think that’s a father’s responsibility. I’ve taken them to things I knew they might not like – opera, ballet. They love going to games with me. And they’re very pleasant in show business; they are good rats.”

Jennifer Nicholson, 61

Nicholson met his first and only wife, actress Sandra Knight, on the set of the film Terror. The two married in 1962 and were together until 1968. Their daughter Jennifer was born in 1963.

Jennifer spent most of her childhood with her mother in Hawaii, according to The Los Angeles Times. “I love being Jack Nicholson’s daughter and I’m proud of him, but people don’t understand the pressures that come with it,” she told the paper in 2003.

After studying art history at school, Jennifer worked as a film set designer, actress and interior designer. She is the owner of a vintage boutique and also started a fashion brand. Namely, she showed the collection at the Fashion Week in New York in 2003, and her clothes were worn by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Naomi Campbell and her father’s ex-girlfriend Anjelica Huston.

Jennifer has two children of her own, sons Duke and Sean Norfleet, with ex-husband Mark Norfleet. Duke took up acting like his grandfather and had a role in 2018 Our.

Caleb Goddard, 54

Nicholson starred opposite Susan Anspach in the 1970s Five easy pieces. The pair were close, and Anspach became pregnant with a child she said was Nicholson’s while they were filming the movie. The actress married Mark Goddard while she was pregnant, and Goddard adopted the son Anspach conceived with Nicholson, Caleb Goddard.

Twenty-five years later, Nicholson has publicly denied paternity, though Caleb told PEOPLE that the actor has privately acknowledged him as his son.

Honey Hollman, 43

Very little is known about Nicholson’s daughter Honey Hollman, whom he welcomed with model Winnie Hollman in 1981. Honey was raised by her mother in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Like her father, she dabbled in acting for a short time and starred in a Danish film in 2010 The Northern Empire.

Lorraine Nicholson, 34

Nicholson and Rebecca Broussard welcomed their first child together, daughter Lorraine Nicholson, on April 16, 1990. Nicholson and Lorraine seemed close when she was growing up, and were often seen having dinner together and attending Lakers games. Dead the actor took Lorraine to the Golden Globes in 2007.

In May 2010, Lorraine told PEOPLE that her dad has a special nickname for her. She explained: “Ever since I was a baby, he called me ‘Perf’, short for perfect.”

Ray Nicholson, 32

Nicholson’s youngest son, Ray, was born on February 20, 1992.

The two seem to share one big interest: the Los Angeles Lakers. Nicholson and Ray have been photographed courtside numerous times over the years.

Of all the Nicholson children, Ray devoted himself most seriously to an acting career. He got a role in the season finale Mayan MC. 2018, and returned to the screens in Out of the blue together with Diane Kruger in 2022.

Ray spoke positively about the experience in an interview with ScreenRant. He explained: “It was a really beautiful thing to know that I didn’t have to give anything more than what I could give, and I know that I poured everything I had into it at the time. I hope that showed up there.”

He also starred in the holiday film 2022 Something from Tiffany with Zoey Deutch.

In his latest project, Smile 2Ray has drawn comparisons to his famous father and his iconic smile Radiation. Although their unforgettably creepy facial expressions look similar, Ray said Deadline that he and Nicholson are “very different people”.

“Obviously I love him. He’s my inspiration. I ate dinner with him every night. I studied it, that’s how I learned to be a human being,” he said. “So of course we’re going to be kind of similar.”

Tessa Gourin, 30

Nicholson’s youngest child, Tessa, was born on August 15, 1994. However, the actor has never publicly claimed that Tessa, who he shares with Jennine Gourin, is his daughter.

In February 2023, Tessa wrote an article for Newsweekdetailing her life as Nicholson’s “illegitimate” daughter.

“The truth is that in all my 28 years of life, we have never had a relationship,” she wrote. “Even though I flew from New York to Los Angeles to meet on the odd occasion as a young girl (at my mother’s urging), it was always clear that he wanted no part of my life. Have you ever been on a date and felt that the other a person just doesn’t feel it? That’s pretty much how every interaction I’ve had with Jack Nicholson has gone.”

Tessa continued: “I don’t hide the fact that Jack Nicholson is my biological father. Why would I? However, it’s also not something I’ve ever had a conversation about. So many people have been forced to live with the pain of the absence of a parent, known or not, but that it makes it much harder when that absent parent is active in their other children’s lives, which is the case with me.”

Not long after the publication of the article, the newly married actress spoke with The Daily Beast and shared that she hadn’t spoken to Nicholson in years.

“Since I was little, my mother told me not to tell anyone that I have this famous dad,” said Tessa. “I knew he was powerful and rich on the same level as Papa Warbucks, so I kind of equated my life to that of Orphan Annie.”
