- On June 2, 2023, Jackie Chan’s sisters revealed that she was in the last month of pregnancy and just one week away from giving birth when her brain aneurysm ruptured. This caused severe bleeding and injury to her brain. Jackie was found unresponsive in her California home and her husband, Austin, rushed her to the hospital. Upon arrival, doctors performed an emergency C-section, delivered her baby daughter, and performed brain surgery on Jackie. The newborn was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where she stayed for 12 days. Meanwhile, Jackie was placed in a medically induced coma and underwent five separate brain surgeries.

- The Cleveland Clinic states that when a brain aneurysm ruptures, approximately 25 percent of people will die within 24 hours, and approximately 50 percent will not survive within three months due to complications.
