HBO’s creation of a series with massive amounts of sex and drugs is nothing new. However, the coming-of-age teen drama Euphoria has such graphic nudity and narcotics that fans were outraged. Jacob Elordi, who plays the antagonist of the series Nate Jacobs, is one of the actors who caused a storm. Elordi came on the Ellen Show on March 2, 2022 and talked about what it was like doing the nude scenes.

When asked by Ellen DeGeneres if he was aware of the nudity scenes in advance, he replied that he “had no choice”. Every scene is like he’s sleeping with that guy, he’s doing it with that person naked,” he explained. Unlike some of his past projects, where his character was forced to go topless to the mall, being naked on Euphoria made sense. He reasoned that it was consistent with the story’s background and Nate’s persona as an “ultra-masculine, macho athlete”. The Australian actor mentioned that they had an intimacy coordinator on site who made sure they were comfortable with the sequences they performed.
As for his comfort level, Elordi explained that he had been working with the same cast and production crew since season one, and it was like “being naked in front of my family.” In response, DeGeneres said: “Which is also weird… You know, it’s unusual in this country. I’m not sure about Australia.”

In another interview, Elordi talked about filming personal sequences with his two co-stars, Alexa Demie and Sydney Sweeney. In the second season of Euphoria, viewers were stunned by the unexpected pairing of Elordi’s Nate and Sweeney’s Cassie. Elordi told Entertainment Weekly that his approach to working with Sydney and Alexa Demie (who plays Maddy) was very different. Elordi and Sydney had a few private parts outside of the first two episodes, which were touched upon by the Kissing Booth actor.
“She’s so brilliant at what she does that it’s been a pleasure working with her the whole time.” “He brings it every time,” Elordi added.
His moments with Sweeney were heated, but they had fun exploring different relationships.
Other members of ‘Euphoria’ act about nudity
In general, there is a lot of nudity and everyone is fine with it. Sweeney, his co-star, who often stripped, revealed that she was comfortable with nudity because she never felt forced to do so. It was actually the actress’s first project where she felt empowered to speak out and express herself.
“There were times when Cassie needed to go shirtless, and I’d say to Sam, ‘I don’t think that’s really necessary here.’ He said, ‘OK, we don’t need it,'” the actress explained.
Sweeney said she was once so embarrassed that she wanted to scrub herself.
Eric Dane, who plays Nate’s father, Cal, said that the nudity was essential to the plot.
“Everything has a purpose.” And I believe it’s useful as long as it serves a purpose within the story,” Dane told E! News.
