Jada Pinkett Smith Addresses Rumors About Her Sexuality in Book: 'When It Comes to Sex, I Love Men'

In her memoir Worthy, Jada Pinkett Smith says that although she has had “a few sexual experiences with women,” she is not gay

Jada Pinkett Smith is open about her attraction to men.

In his new memoir Worthyactress and Talk about the red table the presenter, 52, directly addresses speculation about her sexuality, writing: “There have always been rumors that I’m gay – that I like women.”

“Maybe it had something to do with the clubs I went out to,” continues Jada, who says she frequented LGBTQ+ venues when she was younger.

And while it is Girls trip the star says that she was occasionally intimate with women, she is not a lesbian.

“It’s true that during those early years of research in Hollywood, I had several sexual experiences with women, only to realize that when it comes to sex, I like men,” she continues.

“However, I appreciate the beauty of women inside and out. And I never stopped being infatuated with and admiring women of all ages, sizes and colors. My belief is — women are the most amazing creatures on the planet and I cultivate respect for women through my friendships,” she writes.

During an NBC special that aired Friday,Today host Hoda Kotb asked Jada about the series of rumors she and husband Will Smith, 55, have faced during their marriage.

“You and Will probably have more rumors about you and talk about you than anyone else. ‘They’re in an open marriage, they’re swingers, he’s gay, she’s gay.’ I mean, there were a million things out there. What, if anything, is the truth and did it bother you to hear all that stuff?” Kotb asked.

“I would say none of that is true. I can definitely understand why there would be a misunderstanding, but none of that is true,” Jada replied.

During her press tour for WorthyJada revealed many intimate details about her life, including the fact that she and Will, whom she married in 1997, have been separated since 2016 and are “still figuring out” their relationship.’

In a cover story interview with PEOPLE, Jada said we’re “still figuring it out,” regarding her marriage to Will.

“A lot has happened. The thing about relationships is that they’re constantly moving. Relationships are, it’s an organism. It’s its own thing. It’s constantly changing and constantly moving. A lot has happened in the last two years, so we worked together really hard work.”

Will publicly reacted to the memoir about the recent episode Intentionally with Jay Shetty.
