Jadav Lal Nath was influenced by communist ideology in his early career. He serves as Pradhan of Radhapur Village Panchayat. After witnessing the corrupt practices of communist politicians, he decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on February 25, 2013. He contested the 2013 Tripura Assembly elections from Jubarajnagar constituency; however, he lost the election. In 2018, he contested the Tripura Assembly elections from Baghbasa constituency and won for the first time.

Apparently, someone sitting next to him captured him while watching a blue movie and leaked the video. Opposition leaders of the Congress and Tipla Motta Party demanded his resignation; however, he stated that he was innocent and was trying to answer a call when a blue movie suddenly popped up on his phone and when he tried to close It was captured on video.
