Jai Anant Dehadrai was born in 1988 in New Delhi, India (age 35 in 2023). From 1993 to 2006, he studied at Delhi Public School, RK Puram, New Delhi. From 2006 to 2011, he studied for Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at Savitribai Phule Pune University. In 2009-2010, he completed – Postgraduate Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution – Indian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), Pune. From 2012 to 2013, Jai Anant Dehadrai studied Corporate Diplomacy at the Wharton School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the same period, he studied for his LL.M. (Master of Laws) at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in US corporate law, advanced mergers and acquisitions, appellate defense, US antitrust and EU antitrust.

Defamation allegations against MP Marwa Moitra
Jai Anant Dehadrai came to the limelight in October 2023 when BJP Lok Sabha member Nishikant Dubey accused Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra of accepting bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for raising questions in Parliament. Dubey cited a letter from Jai Anant Dehadrai containing evidence of exchange of cash and gifts between Moitra and Hiranandani.

Mahua Moitra then issued legal notices to Nishikant Dubey and Jai Anant Dehadrai, accusing her of defaming her by accepting bribes to raise issues in Parliament. According to the legal statement, Moitra and Dehale had been close friends but a falling out resulted in Dehale sending Moitra numerous offensive, malicious and obscene messages. He is also accused of trespassing into her official residence and stealing personal belongings, including Moitra’s dog. Due to repeated offending, Moitra decided to file a police complaint against Jai Anant Dehadrai. The notice said Dhale tried to persuade journalists to publish false reports about Moitra but failed due to lack of evidence. Subsequently, the notice said, Dhale came into contact with the BJP, including Dube, who spread the bribery allegations without any prior investigation. The notice further accuses Dube and Dhale of being involved in leaking private photos of Moitra and taking them out of context.
