Jamie Lee Curtis sheds some light on whether Freaky Friday’Cult rock band Pink Slip returns for a sequel.
The Halloween is ending star, 65, shared in an interview with PEOPLE at D23 on Friday, Aug. 9, that fans can expect callbacks in Crazy Friday to the original film — including a reunion of his “Ultimate” musicians.
“Pink Slip is back, let’s put it that way,” Curtis said of the fictional band, which consists of Lindsay Lohan, Christine Vidal and Haley Hudson’s characters, Anne, Maddie and Peg. All three actresses return in the sequel.
Lohan, 38, teased that fans might even see more of the band in their new film. “When we were [filming the songs, audience members] were like, ‘Encore!’ And we said: ‘We only have one song, we didn’t think about it!’ she said. “But there are more songs in this movie.”

“Just let me have this. There’s a song in this new movie that goes to …” Curtis began, to which Lohan added, “It tugs at your heartstrings.”
“It’s going to be a very popular song,” the Oscar winner continued. “It will be the song of the summer next summer. I guarantee it. And I’m an old lady, so you should trust me on this.”
The Mean girls the actress revealed that they have already started shooting scenes with the band for Fucking Friday continued and noted that the “reaction” they got from the people around them made her realize the true impact of the fictitious band.

“We were shooting a scene last night. I will say, we will return some things,” she teased him. “But just seeing the reaction people had to it, it was so moving. I almost wanted to cry because I didn’t realize how Pink Slip really got so big.”
On June 24, Walt Disney Studios confirmed the filming of the film Fucking Friday sequel was underway as they shared a photo of Curtis and Lohan on set. The actresses are seen sitting in front of each other’s trailer holding hands and striking striking poses reminiscent of their “switched” roles in the first film: Lohan smiling and Curtis “rocking.”

The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra and written by Jordan Weiss. Although details of the plot have been largely kept under wraps, Entertainment Weekly announced that the plot will revolve around Lohan and Curtis’ characters switching bodies with two teenage girls.
Curtis and Lohan will reprise their roles as mother-daughter duo Tess and Anne. In addition, original cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao will also return for the sequel.
The Fucking Friday the sequel will be released in 2025.
