Jamie Lynn Spears Recalls Days ‘Causing Hell’ at Disney World When Sister Britney Was on the Mickey Mouse Club

Jamie Lynn Spears gives an insight into the part of her unconventional childhood that she spent on set The Mickey Mouse Club.

The Zoey 101 alum, 32, opened up about the budding stars she met as a child during her sister Britney Spears’ engagement at The Mickey Mouse Club on Tuesday’s episode I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!.

“He’s a wonderful person in real life,” Jamie Lynn said of her relationship with Ryan Gosling. “When I was younger, I grew up with him because he was on The Mickey Mouse Club with my sister. He, my sister, Justin [Timberlake]Christina [Aguilera]… everyone was involved The Mickey Mouse Club. Justin and JC [from NSYNC].”

After her co-star Josie Gibson remarked on her “very normal” nature despite her “very different childhood”, Jamie Lynn revealed that she and her family “lived at Disney World for a few summers” while her sister had a role on the show.

I was 3 or 4 years old and I was creating hell, said Jamie Lynn while describing her behavior on the set. “I was very bad.”

The Nickelodeon star recalled how her parents dressed her in a “little dress” to make a “good impression” on studio executives.

“I’m there on stage, on my mom’s side,” she said before recounting how Britney introduced her to the cast and crew. “‘This is Jamie Lynn, my little sister,’ and I said, ‘I just farted.’ They said, ‘It never mattered where we were, you always said something that made everyone uncomfortable.'”

She added: “I think it’s something I’m still doing now. As a child you don’t know [how] to filter yourself. And now I can be direct, but with a filter, if that makes any sense. But as a kid I was just very direct, no filter.”

In an excerpt from her new memoir, The woman in meBritney, 41, opened up about her time on The Mickey Mouse Club and the early relationship she formed with Timberlake before the two continued dating.

“Being on the show was boot camp for the entertainment industry: extensive dance rehearsals, singing lessons, acting lessons, time in the recording studio and school in between,” wrote Spears, who has appeared on the show since 1993. “The Mouseketeers quickly shared we got into our own cliques, divided by the dressing rooms we shared: Christina Aguilera and I were younger kids and we shared a dressing room. We looked up to the older kids – Keri Russell, Ryan Gosling and Tony Lucca, who I thought was so handsome. And I quickly connected with a boy named Justin Timberlake.”

“[Once] at sleepover we were playing Truth or Dare and someone challenged Justin to kiss me,” she writes. “A Janet Jackson song was playing in the background as he leaned in and kissed me.”

The singer of “Circus” also reveals in The woman in me that while the show was “incredibly fun”, it was also “extremely hard work”, and the children were expected to practice the choreography and routines “thirty times a day”.
