JAMIE OLIVER has politicians in the crosshairs again – 20 years after his campaign for school meals.
I can reveal that the celebrity chef is making a new documentary for Channel 4 about the UK’s broken education system.

In the hour-long show, Jamie will explore the challenges faced by up to 1.3 million dyslexic children across the UK.
It’s a subject close to his heart, having lived with the condition – which meets the criteria for a disability covered by the Equality Act, according to the British Dyslexia Association – since primary school.
Jamie said: “It’s no secret that I struggled at school — but I was one of the lucky ones. I knew I wanted to be a chef so I had somewhere to go, catering school, where I could progress. The kitchen saved me.
“But not everyone is so lucky. What happens to those who do not know where to go?

“We cannot leave the future of children to luck. We need to update the education system so that everyone has the best possible chance in life.”
Diversity of thought
Despite struggling with dyslexia and leaving school with only two high school diplomas, Jamie found fame and fortune through his work as a TV chef and entrepreneur.
On Jamie’s School Dinners in 2005, he tried to improve the quality of the food on offer — even banning turkey twizzlers — but some of his ideas didn’t impress the students.
He now hopes to lobby the Government to unlock the “archaic” education system which he believes is preventing dyslexic children from going to school.
The programme, which will air later this year, will follow Jamie as he looks at how the school system could be reconfigured to celebrate diversity of thought and what makes for success in this day and age.
And he will see how he challenges the Government to make the necessary changes.

Jamie added: “I just want to look 13-year-olds struggling with reading in the eye and say, ‘YOU ARE NOT worthless’.”
Tim Hancock, Editor-in-Chief at Channel 4, said: “There is no more effective fighter than Jamie, and now he is turning his expertise to a subject close to his heart.
“I am delighted that Channel 4 is following him again in the campaign.”
Well done, Jamie.

GEORGE CLOONEY turns detective in his latest TV commercial for Nespresso.
The Hollywood heartthrob seems to have found inspiration in Pink Panther’s Inspector Clouseau as he investigates the disappearance of a “gem” heiress, played by French actress and comedian Camille Cottin.
In the line of fire are the chef, played by Eva Longoria from Desperate Housewives, and her sous chef, played by South Korean actress Kim Go Eun. . . before the big reveal that the “gems” are actually new Nespresso coffee capsules.
“I’ve got to seize the evidence,” George jokes as he reveals the goods hidden around Eva’s kitchen, before tucking them away under his hat.
A real brewdunnit, that.

CHANNEL 4 has confirmed that the third series of brilliant comedy Big Boys will air next month – and will be its final series.
Nine months ago I discovered that the next installment of the series would be the last, and I’m almost sorry to say that I was right.
Revealing the news yesterday, writer Jack Rooke said: “It’s a huge honor to give this series a final send-off.”
Jack based the story of a “dweeby gay man” who became best friends with a “boy boy” on his own formative experiences growing up.
Starring Dylan Llewelyn and Jon Pointing, the story of two university friends – Jack and Danny – became an instant hit when it first aired in 2022.
After receiving much praise, it had a second series last year.
But there seems to be something like a “rule of three” in comedy.
I just wish the bosses could have made an exception in this case.
Carol has been added to Brassic

It’s featured plenty of big names, but the latest recruit for Sky comedy Brassic is the most surprising yet.
The series, which already has Michelle Keegan as its female lead, returns for a seventh season this year – and TV mathematician Carol Vorderman will join the cast.
The former Countdown co-host will appear in just one episode, playing herself, but adds to the list of famous names who have joined.
Other unexpected stars to take on the roles include Dominic West and Imelda Staunton.
The couple are now probably best known for playing King Charles III and Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix series The Crown.
That’s a royally high bar for you to live up to, Vorders.
THE US version of The Traitors arrives on BBC iPlayer on Friday next week. Five episodes of the series, hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, will be available to stream as an all-star cast battle it out to win $250,000 (£205,000).
Among them are reality stars from Ru Paul’s Drag Race, The Bachelorette and Selling Sunset.
