Jana Duggar Shows Off Her Nebraska Fixer Upper with New Husband — and Calls on Dad Jim Bob for Help!

Jana Duggar shares an update on her Nebraska fixer upper!

Former counting on star, 34, took her YouTube subscribers on a tour of the home she’s renovating with her new husband Stephen Wissmann. In addition to showing off the space, Jana also showed off a bit of the demo process — and enlisted the help of her father, Jim Bob Duggar, and her sisters.

“My dad and some of my sisters came to help us with our upstairs demo day,” she explains in the video.

The camera cuts to Jim Bob teaching them how to remove a closet door from one of the rooms. He then shows his sisters helping to remove the carpets and calls the process “a little gross” when they discover some moisture underneath.

In another scene, Jim Bob and Wissmann work together to knock down one of the walls. Over the clip, Jana wrote: “Of course, we also have fun at work!”

Once the wall is out, she marvels at how “much bigger” the space looks. She also mentions how grateful she is to her helpers.

“It’s amazing to me how quickly a project like this can move along with so many people here volunteering their time and energy to help. We are very grateful for all the additional workers,” she says.

Upstairs, he notices that they want to rip out the shiny wood floor in the open kitchen and living area because it’s “noisy” to walk on and “never looks clean.” They also ripped out one of the closets to make the room even bigger.

“Even though this place seems a little shabby, I have to say, just looking outside, I’m so in love with this natural light,” she says. “That’s something this home really has. Lots of great windows on every side. I can’t wait to see how this place looks together.”

“I think as I got older it definitely came up more and more and it felt like, ‘Okay, this isn’t happening. Let me come up with something else, maybe I should be doing something else,'” she says.

Jana says that she “went around”, but nothing came of it. “I’m just wondering, ‘What is it? Is it me? Do I have a problem?’

She adds: “I didn’t always understand what the bigger picture was, but I know that God knows what’s best for all of us. And so for me it’s a later wedding. Each of our stories will be written differently. If we were all exactly the same, it would be boring life, so I think it’s nice how God conducts.”
