Jana Kramer’s 3 Kids: All About Jolie, Jace and Roman

Jana Kramer is a mother of three children!

The country singer welcomed her third child and first with fiancé Allan Russell, Roman, in November 2023. She also shares two children, daughter Jolie and son Jace, with her ex-husband Mike Caussina. The couple separated in April 2021 after six years of marriage, with Kramer citing “inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences and adultery” as the reason for the divorce.

The Squeals downstairs the podcast host found love again with Russell, who she got engaged to in May 2023 after six months of dating.

After welcoming her second child in November 2018, One Tree Hill alum opened up about how motherhood has made her stronger.

“Being a mom has changed me in many ways. I didn’t have the patience before kids,” Kramer told PEOPLE. “I love singing, I love acting, I love doing my podcast and creating things, but being a mom is what truly fulfills me. It’s the best part of my day, even though it’s the most stressful.”

Kramer gave birth to her first child on January 31, 2016 in Nashville. Jolie weighed 7 lbs., 1 oz. and measured 19½ inches in length.

“Words can’t even begin to describe how lucky I feel right now,” Kramer told PEOPLE. “Holding your healthy and beautiful little girl in your arms is something that is truly indescribable. Michael and I are very grateful for this wonderful blessing!”

The country star also shared some details about her pregnancy with PEOPLE, revealing that she had a “barf bag” on stage while on tour and that “sweet sidekick Brittni” had to hold her hair while she threw up after each show.

Despite a difficult pregnancy — Kramer had all-day morning sickness during her third trimester — it didn’t stop her from expanding her family even further. “I can honestly say that just knowing that our little girl is inside me makes it all worth it, and I can’t wait to do it all over again,” she told PEOPLE.

Kramer and her daughter are close, attending events together and enjoying fun activities like water parks and soccer games. In December 2022, the mother-daughter duo appeared on the red carpet at the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball before enjoying a concert.

The couple even starred in a movie together. Kramer worked alongside Mario Lopez in Lifetime’s 2022 Christmas special Step into the holidayand Jolie had a special feature in that she had the role of a dancer.

During an Instagram Story Q&A in March 2022, Kramer revealed that while she wanted her daughter to take her last name, Jolie felt that splitting the hyphens would become too long.

“The kids have my ex’s last name,” explained Kramer. “I asked Jolie, ‘Hey, would you like to be Kramer-Caussin?’ And she said, ‘No, Mom, that’s too long.’ And I said, ‘Okay.’ ”

“It’s hard not to carry your last name as kids,” she added before captioning the video, “Kramer girl for life😂.”

When she revealed she was pregnant again in June 2023, Kramer shared that Jolie was excited to be a big sister again and kept asking Kramer when she was going to have another sibling whenever she saw her mom and Russell kissing .

“Every time Allan and I kissed, Jolie said, ‘You’re getting married and having a baby! I want a little brother, a little sister.’ I told her we were pregnant and she was so happy,” she told PEOPLE.

Jace Joseph Caussin, 5

Kramer welcomed her second child and first son, Jace Joseph, with Caussina on November 29, 2018. The baby boy was born in Los Angeles, weighing 7 lbs., 12 oz., and measuring 20.5 inches.

“Welcome to the world Jace Joseph Caussin. Our hearts are so full. Thank you to all of our friends and family and to all of you who have supported Mike and I and our growing family,” Kramer told PEOPLE.

The author previously told PEOPLE how she struggled to conceive Jace, going through multiple miscarriages and failed IVF before conceiving naturally.

“It’s hard because it’s like ‘Have hope,’ but when you’re in that moment, hope is the hardest thing to find,” she said. “It’s so hard not to [stress] when you want a family so much”.

She also said the pregnancy was a “lifesaver” in her relationship with her ex-husband, as the couple struggled with the consequences of his infidelity.

After his birth, Kramer shed some light on how she chose the name for her little boy, writing on Instagram: “Jace. My sweet boy. When I found out Jace meant ‘healing’ I knew right away that was the name for him .”

“Anyway, he’s gotten better since I found out we’re going to be blessed with another child. I love you so much boy,” she added.

Months after he was born, Kramer returned to Nashville with her then-husband and got a sneak peek into Jace’s nursery, telling PEOPLE she “felt sorry” for the boy because she didn’t decorate his initial LA nursery as much. the daughter worked since they were renting.

“When he was born, we were just renting a house in LA,” she said. “And I said, ‘Well, I’m not really going to put a lot of money into this room because we’re leaving.’ So I wanted to make his room in Nashville the nicest thing ever.”

Although Kramer and Caussin eventually parted ways, they did get together for Jace’s 4th birthday party in November 2022, which was Spider-Man-themed in honor of his favorite superhero.

“Jace’s birthday is tomorrow so I threw him the ultimate Spiderman birthday!!!” Kramer captioned the post on Instagram with pictures and videos from the day. “He had the best time and was absolutely delighted when Spiderman walked in the door 😅🎉 I can’t believe this little man is about to turn 4!”

Kramer and Russell welcomed their first child together, son Roman James Russell, on November 13, 2023. He weighed 6 lbs., 1 oz. at birth.

“Allan and I are overjoyed and truly grateful to announce the birth of our son. We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to create something so special together,” the couple told PEOPLE, adding that their son’s middle name is a nod to their grandfathers. “James were our grandfathers’ names.”

The “Whiskey” singer announced that she was pregnant in June 2023.

“It’s everything I wanted and more,” Kramer told PEOPLE. “Allan was so sweet. He wrote me this little sticky note that said, ‘You deserve a happy ending.’ ”

Kramer said the news was especially sweet because she wasn’t sure if she would be able to get pregnant again.

“I had spontaneous abortions, so I didn’t even know if it was possible,” she said. “I mean, yeah, it would be nice for us to create something because I love this man. That would be a silver lining with everything that’s happened, but I’d always kind of go along with it because I don’t know if I was capable of carrying the pregnancy again.”

Kramer explained that when she attended the iHeart Radio Music Awards in March 2023, she had the familiar metallic taste in her mouth that she experienced when she was pregnant with her first two children. She decided to take a pregnancy test – which was positive.

During a June 2023 episode of her podcast Whining down, Kramer revealed that she was expecting a boy. She explained that the news was surprising because “she was convinced it was a girl.”
