Phillip stepped down from the presenter role after admitting to being romantically involved with a younger co-worker on This Morning. He then released the following statement: “I was in a consensual relationship with a junior colleague at This Morning.
“Contrary to speculation, while I met that man when he was a teenager and I was offered to help him get into television, it was only after he started working in the show, it just became more of a friendship than a friendship. This relationship wasn’t wise, but it wasn’t illegal. It’s over now.”
