Huff has known her husband since they were children
Dowdy, a meteorologist, has known her current husband since childhood. The first time she met him was when she was eight years old. In a March 2010 interview with New Jersey Weekly, Huff revealed that her husband lived next to her family in Morristown, New Jersey.
“I feel at home in New Jersey. My husband is from Morristown and I grew up next to him,” she said. “We visit my family in the summer. That’s how I met my husband, whom I’ve known since I was eight years old.” Dowdy, her husband, is said to be four years younger than his wife, now 60 years old.
Nearly 20 years, lonely couple
Although Huff and her husband have known each other since childhood, the pair have not communicated with each other for nearly 20 years. On March 17, 2011, the meteorologist told the New York Post that after 1976, she no longer visited family in Morristown.

But then, out of nowhere, Dowdy contacted her and invited her to his sister’s birthday party in 1995. After that meeting, they never lost contact. Call it fate or just a coincidence, but they developed feelings for each other and have been together ever since.
They had a Christmas wedding
After just a year of dating, the power couple got engaged in March 1996. They later bought a home in Denville and decorated it with the help of Marshall Watson Interiors. They also moved in together in October of that year.
After a while, Dowdy thought about getting married, but Huff had other plans. They exchanged vows at their wedding in December 1996, following her lead. The wedding was planned entirely by a WNBC meteorologist over a weekend. “He didn’t want to wait, and neither did I. So I planned our entire wedding in one weekend,” she told the New York Times in 2003.
Their wedding day is even more special because it falls during the Christmas season and coincides with the wedding anniversary of Huff’s parents. The legally married couple are still together and vacationing in Hawaii, which she calls her “second home”.
